The building formerly dominated by the Sony store will be gone too I am assuming.

At one point, these value engineering designs like this one have been floating around and did not happen thankfully. https://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2013/01/23/edmonton-downtown-arena-albertans-react_n_2537693.html

In other words, it would only make the SE quadrant sprawl even faster. Seton will be fully developed much sooner. I can see that happening.

I’ll chime in on this one. I think what’s really bothersome about this project is the whole back and forth and redesign process. How many times this project went back to the drawing board? Like...10+? I’ve been watching closely between the Green Line and the Valley Line in Edmonton. To be...

Wait, I thought Little Caesars Arena has quite a bit of street interaction.

Don't expect the Purple Line C-Train to happen anytime soon--until the population more than doubles.

TBH, that MAX Purple bus ROW can handle more than double the amount of peak hour buses pre-Covid. The MAX lines doesn't need to be upgraded for decades.

That West Village proposal probably would have killed whatever life is left of 17 Avenue SW as most hockey fans and event goers would have gravitate towards the new businesses in the West Village area.

    Calgary Cancer Centre | 75m | 14s | Province of Alberta | Stantec

It’s a massive 2-storey link to connect 3 different buildings on levels 2 and 3. There are two passageways on each floor—one for public, and one dedicated for staff. This ‘link’ is a whole project in itself. The pic above is actually a little building that will be accessible from...

Are you sure it's not because of the adjacent building north of it that is blocking the lower half?

    Green Line LRT | ?m | ?s | Calgary Transit

I just feel the North section won’t have immediate benefits compare to what’s already in place. There will be no improvement to commuting time, unlike the SE leg—thus no extra revenue generated at all to make up for the cost. This section will be massively expensive and disruptive (unless we...

    Green Line LRT | ?m | ?s | Calgary Transit

That happened because Calgary was booming. For example, Edmonton's LRT was supposed to extend to Southgate in the mid 90s, but due to Klein's drastic infrastructure funding cuts, it terminated at University in 1992; it then stayed that way for over 10 years, and it only restarted because...

I have a funny feeling the UCP may just drop the guillotine past Eau Claire. There’s simply too many NIMBYs north of it. Downtown will likely go ahead as planned with perhaps at least a year delay.

Sadly, that would have been an improvement to the tower--that's how ugly it is.

As long as no re-skinning happens to the Len Werry building; otherwise, eyebleach only works at certain angles.

    Green Line LRT | ?m | ?s | Calgary Transit

Just trying to wrap my head around this. If infrastructure is so critical, how did Doug Ford made the decision to scrap the LRT project in Hamilton? Were there any more rationale than just cost $5+billion? How many Hamiltonians were supporting/opposing the project prior to the cancellation?

The trolleybuses existed until early 1975, but clearly this was shot in the summer. Also, it appears the tower was topped out not long from when it was taken--kinda tell the mechanical level was still being worked on. 1974 for sure.

    I am guessing 1974.
