Sunterra is under bankruptcy protection right now. I think... they will keep operating and just shed some unprofitable businesses and former bond holders will own it going forward.

It would be nice if they could replace the structure of their building, but I suspect it's likely not that simple. Manifolds, tubing, etc. are probably running on the interior walls, and messing with them at pressure would be somewhat dangerous. They could always build a nicer building shell...

They're rebuilding the backup power generator on top of the building. I'd assume a bunch of mechanical and electrical work for that is currently ongoing.

I hope they get their event traffic figured out. Also maybe some good City of Calgary bus routes to it to deal with the crush of vehicles.

Ironic, Brookfield spent years trying to re-waterproof that garden to stop leaks into the parkade, finally gets it done a few years ago, and then promptly removes it now.

Can we get the spelling of the building corrected? Every other source I've found for the building has it spelt Hanover instead of Hannover.

Perhaps the city could offer the owner to buy up some land and the same price as adjacent land, then cover the rest of the cost out of city coffers?

Given that Cairo is a developer themselves, I wonder if it's a construction contract where instead of payment, they get equity based on how much they spend on finishing construction. Otherwise, I doubt Strategic is very bankable...
