    Statscan numbers

I get it, my sister and her husband moved to the US and are very happy with their move even though love Canada and they are anti-trumpers. I’m staying put here in Canada, but stateside has some benefits.

    Urban Multi-Family Construction Count Tracker

Nice little boom of inner city growth happening. Between all these Beltline starts and the conversions in the CBD the core could see another 3-4K residents added in the next two years.

    Chinook North Multifamily | 21m | 6s | M2SC

Would be a great place to live with decent rents, but if they’re going to be as high as the other new builds, not so much.

    Elbow 5 Eight | 21.94m | 6s | Cove Properties | S2 Architecture

It won’t win a Pritzker award, but it’s good solid infill.

It looks a lot more like the rendering with the mesh.

The views would be amazing from there.

    General Construction Updates

It could be. I’m usually in that area a couple of times a month and first noticed it about two months ago, but maybe it was there before that.

    General Construction Updates

This is East Hills Crossing. The one on the north side of 17th is Belvedere House. I don’t know what the project is with the concrete and the tower crane but there’s also another tower crane about a kilometre south of East Hills Crossing.

    1st Ave NE Shoppers I 12m I 2s I First Capital I Collabor8 Architecture

I wouldn’t mind seeing 2 or 3, 4 storey buildings on the north side of the avenue and keep it at that.

    The Forge | 16.5m | 6s | Kanas | Gibbs Gage

It would be easy to implement too, there’s enough space to move the cars 3-1/2’ from the curb on each side and pop in a bike lane.

Bummer I thought something juicy was coming down the pipe.

    BTYYC | 24m | 6s | Eagle Crest | Davignon Martin

24th avenue is so close to going into game change mode. A couple more developments like this and the rest of the avenue will rapidly flip over to an urban avenue.

    The Brooklyn | 37m | 10s | Ayrshire | EFG Architects

It’s fine. Like many other proposals it’s not an earth moving design, but it does the job. All I care about mostly is the street level and it’s decent. It’s a heck of an upgrade from a parking lot.

It’s for Aria Encore, probably on the way down as the building topped out a while back.

    Cars, Pedestrians, Cyclists and Transit

Are you the same guy from a while ago that wanted to ban all cars and make everyone ride bikes? If so you need to tone it down and concentrate your efforts on better pedestrian and cycling infrastructure without the anti-car/driver stuff. Cars are not going anywhere, accept that and move on...

    Calgary Transit

Putting the Red Line u/g is a lot of money for little gain. It would shorten trip times, but increase time getting in and out of the stations and it won’t increase ridership, and would likely decrease it. A fair number of people use the train to go back and forth downtown as it’s so easy to hop...

    Calgary Transit

None of the 4 endpoints badly need extensions, but NE and Deep South would be my choices. Both areas are growing rapidly.

    Calgary Transit

The Max lines are still in their infancy and ridership has been increasing. Max Orange is now all day with intervals of 8.5min peak and 10min off peak on weekdays, which isn’t much different than Edmonton’s Valley line. I wouldn’t say it’s good money chasing bad as the system is now built and...
