    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

speaking of which I mentioned turning GMC stadium into a football arena and essentially got clowned in another thread. This makes me smile.

    Calgary's Downtown Discussion Thread

There is a third major road under development atm for Kelowna. Right now it’s currently 1) Highway 97B 2) Glenmore Rd 3) going to be an extension of Clement Ave I believe scheduled to open in 2031 with Glenmore and Highway 97 being the only 2 roads that can really funnel traffic from Vernon ->...

    Calgary's Downtown Discussion Thread

This is my exact opinion as well. I’m moving out of here in about a month and this was the first place I moved to after Calgary (3-4 years). Since I’ve come it’s definitely gotten better (especially with urban density) and I have really high hopes for it, but I would never move back here LOL

Funny you guys mentioned Kelowna I live there currently. This image is of One Water Street from my bedroom right now. Just behind this they’re supposed to be doubling the amount of towers here to make this really cool complex https://developkelowna.ca/projects/vintage-waterscapes

    Calgary's Downtown Discussion Thread

This is what I was thinking. Additonally, It's getting overshadowed by the Bow and Brookfield Place, the only way you can actually see the Calgary Tower is if you're coming in from memorial going west, or if you're going down centre street. With the new buildings popping up in east village it...

Honestly, me too and I think everyone actually thinks the same. I guess the biggest thing is the transit links between those two communities and UBC itself which cause westbrook to be a more viable option compared to Kitsilano or businesses on West 4th (also the traffic in kits and w4 are...

    Calgary's Downtown Discussion Thread

I was thinking of something that could be a fun discussion. If you were to replace the Calgary Tower with something, what would It be, or better yet would you like to see it replaced?

I went to school at UBC, Westbrook is like a whole other town its so interesting walking there in between classes and just being transported into this completely different place. It doesn't feel like a University project (whereas in my opinion UD does) because it does a really good job of...

Has there been any updates as to interior design yet? I'm assuming we'll know more once that experience centre opens up but I'm so curious lol. I always feel kind of jealous of edmonton because of their "Ford Hall" and we're obviously not getting something at that scale but it would be cool. The...

Damn... I dont like it. I guess thats just because I really hate when corporations take over naming rights for "community facilities". I understand they generate revenue from name right deals but like come on man... Also the Esso logo if it's kept like that ruins the whole aesthetic of that...

    New Stadium Discussion Thread

This might be completely incorrect but I'm pretty sure that CFL fields are actually supposed to shrink with the new rules that are being added. I don't watch the CFL at all but I remember that being a controversial topic recently so it might fit even better.

This is what I think makes the most sense as-well. Having a completely separate line all the way to downtown from airdrie or okotoks makes 0 financial and logical sense lol.

    Calgary Transit

Don't quote me on this, but I saw a video posted by someone who was at the event yesterday (totally forgot who, if I could find it i'll post it here) that mentioned how they had created the 210 ave station as a catalyst for a future extension into Okotoks which would help far down the line with...

Saw something regarding an event today about a two station extension south for the red line. Not sure if this was talked about already here’s the link. https://engage.calgary.ca/redlineLRT-FPS I think we should focus on an airport connection with the blue line before this project, however it’s...
