    The Vibe | 22m | 6s | CivicWorks | Claroscuro

I think this development does a decent job to kickstart higher density at an excellent location. In my view, people are being too harsh, it’s not the type of project where luxury finishings are needed. Let’s hope they plant some reasonable landscaping in the spring after the ground thaws. For...

Is that by the Marda Loop Safeway? Yeah that building works great. It’s one of the many reasons why Marda Loop is one of the top areas in town. Why not build 10 of them right?

They should build Barcelona style courtyard buildings here. Their super blocks are great, where the outer roads of the 3x3 building grid are collector roads. Then the inner roads are very low speed and pedestrian friendly with benches and playgrounds.

I"m wondering if you saw news articles or something on one of the websites so I could research it further. Calm down.

Are you aware of any quotes coming from Schmidt on the Westbrook TOD? Or even media materials from the CMLC on TODs?

    Macleod - Heritage | 20m | 6s | Deveraux | Gibbs Gage

These units unfortuantely don't appear to have any good outdoor spaces for the residents. I would hope on a development of this scale that they would at least have some indoor amenities, such as a gym or a party room. I guess the builders are just trying to maximize revenue per acre here...

    Green Line LRT | ?m | ?s | Calgary Transit

Building the North Central Green Line completely underground just seems so excessive to me. I can understand wanting to have the 16 Ave N station underground, as it has so much potential to build a hub for the area. However, for anywhere north of that, the cost/benefit of a full subway just...

    Calgary Transit

On the CMLC website, I saw TOC proposals for three locations: Anderson, Dalhousie and Fish Creek stations. It’s light on details, as they are in the ‘exploration’ phase. That being said, it’s an exciting milestone on three great sites. I’m hopeful this will turnout great, as master planning by...

    The Bennett | 20m | 6s | FAAS Architecture

And out of nowhere, the pocket between crowchild and 25 st, south of 26 Ave is packed with mid rise towers.

    UofC Architecture School | 60m | 14s | U of C

This is great, I hope this starts a trend of post secondary filling up west downtown. There is so much floor space that is in good or great condition that would be perfect for adult students. I’m wondering if the adult high school would work well downtown as well, as the transit access would be...

    Boro Block | 20m | 6s | Liberty Housing

I believe it was a community medical centre back in the day. The kind of place you take your young kids to get vaccines. Perhaps in the era of Joe Rogan fans, there’s less demand for this sort of thing.

    Heritage Plaza | 91m | 26s | Arcadis

With all the chatter on this thread about a poor pedestrian and cycling experience on Macleod, perhaps it’s more appropriate to focus on corridors that can realistically be improved in the area. Why not leave Macleod alone and focus on improving Bonaventure, Heritage and Haddon for pedestrians...

    West District | ?m | ?s | Truman

The Route Ahead Report on page 122 shows right of way for the extension to 85 St station at the intersection of Aspen Hills Dr and Aspen Stone Blvd. This doesn’t open the door for an additional station to the north in the community of West Springs. Perhaps the only alternative is to head west...

    West District | ?m | ?s | Truman

I feel like it’s a much easier sell to the public to extend a currently operating line that is successful, rather than building a completely new line. This would be a natural project to consider after the green line is all done

    West District | ?m | ?s | Truman

The scale of development in both West Springs and Springbank Hill makes me wonder if a West LRT extension is possible. With one station at 17 Ave/ 85 St, then one in the West Springs Area, say 8 Ave and 85 St. I saw in the Calgary Transit Route Ahead plan, this extension was listed as a...

    Calgary real estate market

Does anyone know what the development is going up across the street from Luke’s Drugs in Killarney? I was in that area the other day and noticed about a half block was cleared and it included the corner lot facing 26 ave. They have construction fencing around the vacant lot. That address was...

    Bow33 | 22m | 6s | Truman | NORR

This is a great example for a topic that you can ask about to the mayoral or councillor candidates in this year’s municipal election. I don’t think townhouses are appropriate scale for that site, and that’s what was asked. Either high rise or mid rise towers likely fit the bill here. Westbrook...

    Bow33 | 22m | 6s | Truman | NORR

The city is in no rush on this, they don’t need to settle for townhouses on that site. I think they should wait until they find high rise developers. If it takes a few years, then so be it. They have the ability to develop several train station areas for intensive TOD. I’d rather they wait...

    Westbrook Multi | 21m | 6s | Truman | NORR

This is fabulous news. It looks like they used this parcel as a storage yard for their other projects on 33 St SW for the past couple years. Once this project on 14 Ave/33 St is complete, it will really make this feel like more of a multi-family community. Also, it should make a more...

    Parkline | 60m | 16s | Minto | Zeidler

This development is a great use of underutilized land. No. One has been using that large parcel for about a decade now. It’s in an area that has been redeveloping rapidly for a couple decades, on the forefront of the trend compared to the rest of the inner city. The current form of the project...
