The new building is level, the road is sloped.

2nd Street was already scheduled for repavement due to the condition of the roadway. Plenty of surface cracking, patches from utility work, drainage issues etc. If the City waits too long to mill and repave a roadway, they have to do a full depth repair and replace all the road gravels too...

They definitely dredged it out at least - I floated down that channel on the south side of Elbow Island a couple of times early this summer. It was almost like going through a long tunnel with the big trees overhanging.

I believe part of the extra space is to relocate the BMO complex's data centre, which currently resides in a part of the building that is going to be demolished for the new expansion.

I can't see this one going forward before there is some more certainty on the Green Line alignment and timing. It would be great to see this building integrated with the Centre Street station.

Last time I was in the area (last weekend I think) the CP pathway underpass was open, just the 9 Ave bridge pathway underpass was closed. Has that changed now?
