    General Photos of Calgary

I'm lucky enough to have Crescent Road as my daily bike commute into downtown everyday. And everyday I think how lucky I am to get to see that view.

    The Hub | ?m | 28s | Campus Suites | ARK Inc.

Interesting to see how this development fits in with the city's improvement plans for 16th and crowchild https://www.calgary.ca/Transportation/TI/Documents/Road-projects/BTAI-WB-16-Ave-NW-high-res-map.pdf

Calgary Bike Lanes and Bike Paths

I've found Lime to be better than car2go or Uber in certain circumstances but you're journey management needs to be spot on. It would be nice if some competition could bring a drop in price to facilitate more recreational use of them (ie. I'm no longer trying to get from A to B in as little time...

Calgary Bike Lanes and Bike Paths

The Macleod signalling is problematic especially with a pedestrian walk light and a red for bicycles. Only riding this route infrequently each time I feel like maybe the bike signal is a mistake since pedestrians are crossing and end up just crossing. If you're the only cyclist too you have no...

    M2 Block | ?m | 4s | XYC | Riddell Kurczaba

Not to derail this thread too much from M2 but the city's draft plan for Eau Claire (which is open for feedback right now) does have the 1886 cafe relocating closer to the lagoon fronting on the pathway with a patio.

    Parkside | ?m | 18s | Anthem | IBI Group

No retail on the new phases, only in the original 2 Waterfront towers

    The Livery | 10.36m | 2s | MoDA

So no one noticed the ducks? Just Jessica Biel (guess that makes sense) "The outdoor space is intended for things like a night market or music events, water fowl, etc"

    Park Point | 106.98m | 34s | Qualex-Landmark | IBI Group

Couple observations for me: Nice to see that The Park has a green roof (minor redeeming quality) - wish all new buildings incorporated that a That cluster of Union Square, Colours, Chocolate and Portfolio are visually my favourite group of condos

    The Hat | 88.08m | 28s | Cidex Group | NORR

So does the hat because you can't see the spandrel

    Infill Development Discussion

In the Herald today, one I haven't seen mentioned here yet https://section23.com/projects/homes/seniors-residences-edward/ https://calgaryherald.com/life/homes/condos/the-edward-to-complete-the-multi-generational-community-at-cspace

    Infill Development Discussion

17th ave is becoming a good little stretch with quite a few 3-4 story condos now. Biking down that street I'm quite happy with the street presence they have. With mainly single family homes / duplexes across the street they are not too imposing and have good setbacks. Plus they create a nice...

    Infill Development Discussion

That's because the Neapolitan already exists on center street https://www.google.ca/maps/@51.06446,-114.0625097,3a,60y,59.12h,105.25t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1s5HBeOGT7kQuAjtdFFqWBJA!2e0!7i13312!8i6656

    Eau Claire

They have the stencils now on the bike path portion too. You will always have recreational / weekend bikers on the walking portion but regular commuters will be on the separated path which will help. Unfortunately the intersection of bike and walking traffic right at eau claire plaza is poor...

    Westmount Development | 20m | 6s | Anthem | Integra Architecture

See some similarities to the Henry that Brookfield built in Parkdale

    Calgary City Centre | 161.54m | 36s | Cadillac Fairview | Zeidler

As I stare at those fritzy LEDs from my office it would be nice to see them working consistently. The cold weather seems to take the biggest toll as they seem to start breaking as soon as a cold snap starts (and right from day 1). They have switched from having the entire strip on each level lit...

I believe Scotia Bank is now in Brookfield which would likely mean that their 2nd st location will be leased out

The tree wells is quite interesting, does anyone know what they do differently now with the tree wells to increase life expectancy?

    General Construction Updates

Could be for the climbing center, http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/climbing-centre-ground-breaking-olympic-gym-facility-1.3984484 Can't remember if there were any cranes last time I went by, most of the steel work is done though
