Any capacity anywhere on the line increases capacity of the whole line. Two way railroading on primarily single track is weird

I can speculate that just as in they wished to own the project at the end of the term, which blew up the first concept, that the province wants to own the land, which would be a non-starter with CPKC, and expanding the corridor would be a non-starter with First Nations. So, pushed into a...

    Alberta Provincial Politics

The referendum itself was ruled illegal by the courts this morning due to offending Section 35 (Treaty Rights). It will go to the Supreme Court. 2 year delay at best.

Danielle Smith wants hydrogen, Bow Valley environmentalists are against emissions and noise from diesel, so hydrogen it is. There has been a lot more work on this than is public, it is stuck in analysis paralysis as the province plays with what it wants, versus what can be funded by partners...

    Statscan numbers

Its all a bit murky due to permanent versus non-permanent residents, and how arrivals (and conversions of long term NPRs) will change over the next decade. I don't think we can accurately predict or account for how this happened or will undo itself.

    Calgary & Alberta Economy

That would be about $1.5 billion a year for 8 tails, $2.2 billion a year for 24 according to a rough estimate based on past contracts and volumes. I'll illustrate a different example as have little idea how much it would cost to keep them in 30 day ready to fly condition. That could instead...

They were looking for $23 million capital and a $10 million a year operating subsidy in 2015. This site claims it is fully funded - paid in full. I doubt it. The site allocated was also mostly used for the event centre.

They'll claim to. It can also be, buying Korean equipment, made in Poland. With buying tanks, selecting the industrial offset far more strategically should be the name of the game. Ammo manufacturing makes sense. We have more money than manpower, and loading a warehouse for ourselves and for...

Both of them are. For youth, it is about not being able to easily discern ages, so revenue leakage plus the UK 'hoody' problem-teenagers doing teenager stuff that is seen as disruptive.

A fee isn’t how I would characterize it — it’s capitalizing a bank. We could do the same thing directly via EDC & CCC but for partner projects why not make it easier and have only one financing mechanism? The UK is in a bad financial situation. I’m not sure it is Canada in the early 90s but...

A place to start is energy intensive, feedstock intensive processes. Like this: https://canadiandefencereview.com/eurenco-and-nalagx-agree-to-exclusive-negotiations-for-manufacturing-energetic-materials-in-canada/

To go further off track, usually routes I look at have too many turns, but this one would be fun! MRU to a new 50th Ave station. Could likely do the trip in 20-25 minutes.

This looks to avoid a quarry that was then a landfill of some sort. It is zoned "Special Purpose - City and Regional Infrastructure". A sanitary main built in 2021 goes around it instead of across, adding distance to its run. I have to think there is a good reason.
