Calgary still seems to be growing in population, and as ng as that keeps going, rental builds will probably keep going. Last month Calgary once again led all metros in housing starts. I guess the question is, how long will the momentum carry with immigration numbers slowing.

Agreed, it would be nice to see some more comprehensive plan for the area surrounding Chinook Station, but at the same time given the big box stores and strip malls around it, it could be a long wait. I'm treating this as a step forward.

I always thought the Denny's was kind of funky for a Denny's, but this will be a good addition, especially if they decide to do a color change before building it. White with one other accent color and it would actually look pretty good IMO.

I'm okay with the looks, mainly because of its location, but I wonder how dirty that south side is going to look after a winter full of 16th ave traffic. Hopefully they give the facade regular cleanings.

Okay, I see the point, and in this case it looks like it's not fair to Edmonton, but in the grand scheme of things it's pretty minor. Edmonton also gets to be the capital and have the vast majority of provincial government jobs. We'd be glad to take the prisons, but we'll want the legislature...
