    Calgary International Airport

September numbers out. Up a bit from September last year, not huge, but impressive when you consider transborder was -11.4 %

    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

Interesting. It looks like ATB is consolidating multiple locations into one site, and I'm assuming some of those sites are out of the core, as this move will result in net positive absorption. The move will consolidate ATB’s multiple Calgary locations into the new office, which will also result...

    Infill Development Discussion

I can't think of any mid block parcels with unit builds. I've only ever seen them on corner lots. for some reason dmap isn't working for me this morning, but I recall, seeing some mid block developments with 6 units (4 units + 2 accessory units above the garage), but even then, only couple of times.

    Infill Development Discussion

Looks like construction has started on this 32 unit development here on Edmonton and 28th Ave NE. No pic, but here are some renderings. Edmonton Trail view 28th ave view

Someone did a top notch drone job...just wasn't me :) I should have stated the source of the shots.

Who knows they might get the keys to the arena while they're in the Stanley Cup final :D

Agreed, although even with some of the projects of the 30-70 unit scale that are quicker builds, I can see the appeal of the 6-16 unit infills we are seeing built. Not a whole lot of excavation or concrete work, and they go up so quickly.

I should probably have mentioned these images are screen caps from a Youtube video from Truman.

I'm glad to see this coming and almost done, but it does really make you think about multi-family development when you look at this project from a high level. The cost and the time to build 36 units, when compared to say, building a 16 unit infill and a couple of 8 unit infills. You can really...

I'm good either way. I'm guessing there will be another name change yet to come. A few more renderings from the DP.

    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

Yep, a repurpose of an existing building. I'm guessing they can get away with it as is, due to the building itself not changing much. I would prefer a new building with parking in the back, but this will be better than the auto mechanic shop for sure.

    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

Interesting rendering found on Farmor Architecture's website. I don't know how serious the proposal is as there is no DP, but it would be nice to see another highrise near the Banff trail LRT station.

    The Onyx Hotel | 14m | 4s | Leonard

I like it. It's quaint, and fits 34th ave vibe perfectly. Marda loop has two personalities. the busy 33rd ave with all modern styled buildings, and 34th ave, the quaint walkable, eclectic avenue. Turning into quite the neighborhood.

    Office Space Conversion

Boost away @whatchyyc, I'm of the same school of thought! Most of the conversions are on the west and and 8th is the corridor that connects from the Beltline through to the river and ultimately to Kensington. Upgrading 8th is important. A positive outcome of the conversions and 8th street...
