Well since that cat is out of the bag, yes, that's the design team. Not who I would have wanted, either, but oh well. The rumoured teams of Rossetti / Populous, or BIG / AECOM would have been more my preference.

Rumour has it the arena design team has been picked. I'll post more info when I have a more 100% accurate answer as to who it is.

Oh man.... that would be a fun thread. I've seen a bajillion concepts over the years that never became public. I'll tell you this, some of them would be architectural masterpieces in this province. The problem is getting access to them, which requires have special permission from the design...

I worked with the design firm on that FCC Phase II when that concept first came out in like 2006. Ah, memories.

Just an observation here, but some of the design teams pursuing the new arena are awesome. Can't give more than that at the moment, but whoever ends up being the successful proponent, Calgary's likely gonna get a gem.

They could even put forward a unique value proposition if they are also awarded this project... design synergies and potential savings between the two projects, etc. Who knows.

Some fun news - CMLC's Calgary Event Centre RFP for Prime Design Consultant Services came out today.

This is outstanding. If / when built, this becomes the instant landmark in Inglewood.

I love this project. I live a couple blocks away, and I make sure I slow down to stare at this building every time I drive by (I'm sure at the annoyance of people behind me). What an absolute treat of a commercial building to have in this area. I hope more design / construction quality of this...
