    Urban Multi-Family Construction Count Tracker

I lived in Toronto for a few years, but that was a few years ago and to be honest I enjoyed the city for the most part. I get that it’s probably a lot more expensive than it used to be when I lived there. Of course I didn’t mind the hustle and bustle. Also, I suppose I had it good living with my...

    Hat @ 14th Street | 94.48m | 28s | Cidex Group | NORR

Probably not, whatever people think about Cidex’s, at least they stick to spandrel, which is a much better material than stucco.

    EV606 | 22m | 6s | Alston Properties | ATLRG

Oh cool! Would be so great to see this get underway. 😎

    BMO Centre Expansion | 25m | 5s | CMLC

Is there any chance there is a thin protective coating over the panels?

    Kings Landing | 21m | 6s | Uptown Residential | NORR

The original renderings looked good but I think these look even better. Solid project.

    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

I cringe every time I see one of his articles. Sure, lots of people like single family homes in the burbs. We don't need an article to explain that. What we needs is people with fresh perspective on how to grow the inner city, and make it more attainable for those who prefer the inner city.

    Hat @ 14th Street | 94.48m | 28s | Cidex Group | NORR

Spandrel is fine for the most part, and with the exception of EV I don't know that Cidex has even used more spandrel than builds by other developers.

West Village Towers | 149.95m | 42s | Cidex Group | NORR Dubai Yahya Jan

Sidewalk is still normal as far as I can tell.

I never realized how close the tower is to the lrt tracks. It’s a shame the CP tracks are on the other side, it would be nice to see development on both side of the lrt tracks.

Unfortunate downgrade from the original rendering

Calgary is starting something exciting — and it's turning heads everywhere

It's not that people are excited to see O&G in decline, but there is a feeling of excitement that Calgary is moving in the right direction. Part of that moving in the right direction is accepting that O&G won't be the booming force it used to be. It's not going away anytime soon, but people are...

    Stephen Avenue Quarter | 241m | 66s | Triovest | Gibbs Gage

Is that true though? For the last 2 Years Stephen Ave. has been quiet due to Covid, but before that it was the busiest street downtown and the only one that has had any amount of life after work hours. I don’t believe keeping the façades but building a large mega podium in behind them will make...

    Weather and Gardening Discussion

Go vertical was only commenting that the flowers are still nice to see. Whether they were there in April or not. I’m sure there was non ill intentions.

    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

I don't like it either, but subsidizing retail, or festivals is no different. It's still subsidizing something that competes with non-subsidized entities. If it was up to me I would target retail as the biggest issue that needs fixing. IMO the lack of retail on the street and retail after hours...

    Crane Count

After dropping five straight cranes from the list, we have now added six straight cranes. We’re back in business!

    Calgary's Downtown Dilemma

The connectivity factor speaks just as much to pedestrians if not more I would say. Both 1st and 8th street are the only streets that have pedestrians after business hours and it’s mostly because those streets carry on to the Beltline. 5th street is making strides too, but also another street...
