For a suburban development it’s very solid. This would look great across from Chinook.

Agreed, having a hotel in that location would’ve been nice. Imagine visitors coming to Calgary staying there, would have a different impression than some other one to stay downtown just off fourth Avenue.

I appreciate the input. My opinions may differ, but I always like to see opposing opinions on this site.

    General Construction Updates

On any other avenues besides 17th, 10th St. in Kensington, 4th Street in Mission, maybe 9th Avenue in Inglewood, I would say go ahead and build a drive-through. It’s only my opinion, but the crush of cars trying to get in and out of McDonald’s for the drive-through as a real detractor for 17th...

Some of the online literature is old and still shows it as a hotel, but it will be regular rental units.

I wonder how many of us have here on the forum have had that pent-up travel urge. My family and some friends can be counted as taking advantage of the direct flight to Paris, with 8 of us going.

That’s only the vapor barrier on the outside. They still have to put some panels or stucco and then the mesh.

Selling those units to locals would be a tough sell due to the reputation of the area but it won’t be hard to sell it to out of town investors, or even out of town people looking to live there. The area has its problems for sure but it’s no worse than most cities. In fact, it’s probably a lot...

IMO the install looks better than what we typically see with these metal panels. I don’t have any issue with the tiles, my biggest issue is the concoction of different materials. Even then I don’t mind it. It’s better than the usual run of the mill.

These won’t be retail work from home units, they’ll be more like the professional services type that you mentioned.

I too sympathize with homeowners having to be forced out of their home, but sometimes things have to be done for the greater good. I do hope they are well compensated for it.

Calgary Bike Lanes and Bike Paths

Because it’s the City of Calgary and they couldn’t call themselves the city of Calgary if they did something sensible. The plan was only temporary for the third Avenue cycle track, so some bureaucrats somewhere in the city, looked at the timeline and thought OK. time to take it out, without any...
