The 144th Ave BRT functional planning has entered phase 2. There are a few different routes to choose from. https://engage.calgary.ca/144AveBRTfps

    2025 Federal Election

A lot of people don't vote because it doesn't really matter who wins. None of the federal political parties in Canada really represent my political beliefs. In fact, I have to squint to see the difference between the Conservative and Liberal party of Canada. Furthermore, politicians make a lot...

    Office Space Conversion

I respectfully disagree. The reason homelessness has increased is due to the following: 1. From 2015-2022 there was rapid population growth in Urban centers which created a housing shortage. 2. Starting in 2012, there was an influx of fentanyl into the country. Solutions: 1. Halt all...

That's what I'm trying to say. I wish there was public policy in place to incentivize the protection of heritage properties and incentivize the redevelopment of underutilized land within the inner city.

I find it weird that CT chose that particular MAX station to upgrade. I think the bus stop on 6th Ave and 3rd street is more deserving of an enclosed shelter and arrival screen. It'd a stop for the: 301 302 MAX Yellow #1 #3 In fact, it'd be nice to see more bus stations have MAX style shelters...

Is there an arrival times screen?

I think the station is south of 7th Ave. This area here:

Do you know how the ownership works? When someone buys a unit, is it a 99 year lease (similar to National Parks and Redwood Meadows)? Or is it a freehold?

    11th Street Underpass | ?m | ?s | City of Calgary

The difference is that the 5th street underpass was built in the 1950's with an upgrade that was completed in 2022. The 11th street crossing is an existing surface crossing.

    11th Street Underpass | ?m | ?s | City of Calgary

I don't think eliminating one CPR crossing for cars is going to be the end of the world. In fact, 11th street doesn't even register on traffic volume maps. I think having a pedestrian underpass a park might be an attraction within the downtown/beltline area. Something similar to the Peace...

    Green Line LRT | ?m | ?s | Calgary Transit

Oh no! The incredibly beautiful and walkable 10th Avenue will be completely ruined for those poor businesses. The view of the 1960's concrete parkade might be obstructed. Plus...you could have 20,000 - 40,000 C-train passengers per day having easy access to businesses that could drive away the...

    Davis Block | 22m | 5s | Unitii | S2

I generally agree. The destruction of the Pre-WW1 homes and the 1940's apartment building would be more palatable to me if there wasn't already a large inventory of vacant lots or underutilized sites within the inner city. To me it's sad to see the destruction of historic buildings when 400m...

That's too bad. Those apartments and homes are what gives the neighborhood it's character. Heritage homes are what gives the neighborhood it's edge over new areas like Seton or U/D.

Gondolas are neat. But I think they work better as a single point connector only. Moving people to one destination to another. For example: Moving people from the top of a Hill -----> a Metro station When there are multiple stops at Foothills Hospital and UofC and Brentwood station I think...

Those are good points. Unfortunately, a new bridge will be very costly. The problem with using Bow Trail/Crowchild/Memorial is that it is a long and slow detour. A successful transit route should be: 1.Direct 2. Fast 3. Frequent

With all the new BRT improvements going on, I thought that I'd do a crayoning exercise. Instead of a Gondola, I'd like to see the MAX Teal extended North to Foothills Hospital, UofC and Brentwood station. A new bridge would have to be built over the Bow River. Black circles are stations...

It would be nice if this LRT extension were elevated down the median of 85th street. I hate excessive at-grade crossings.36th street in the NE is a nightmare.

What a shame... It's less than 800m walk to Heritage Station:

It should be a fairly cheap LRT extension. 1. There are zero elevated, trenched or underground portions of the line. 2. There are zero at grade crossings or overpasses needed. (194th is already built and the 210th Ave overpass will be built regardless) The maintenance facility will be...
