Vancouver developers sure know what quality condo/apartment towers look like. IMO, Calgary's best-looking residential towers come from Metro Vancouver developers like Bosa, Intergulf, Bucci, etc. I wish we got more developments from them and fewer from developers like Cidex.

I hope in consideration of a TOD, The City streamlines over any local resistance. 6 Stories is nothing too crazy next to a LRT station.

With a future LRT station, I think 16 ave and centre area would be a great midtown spot. A mix of midrises and highrises.

It would've been nice if they changed the color of the cladding at least. Another twin. I don't know if I feel happy about this one aesthetically. Even the first tower is well-designed structurally but the cladding could have been better for the tower section, IMO.

Do developers and investors sit there and say "Hey let's pick the ugliest design and material"? It's hard to imagine how designs like this can still happen.

Well, they can start by building the second tower for this right away! The rental vacancy is low and with inflation still historically high, I don't think we're getting lower interest rates any time soon, so makes no sense to me why they're waiting.

Agreed! There should be retail along 3rd ave and preferably 9a st, along the train station side. I don't know why we still can't make a proper TOD. Retail street activation along transit stations is one of the key pieces to unlocking vibrancy that comes with a TOD development. This is why TOD...
