    I'd love to see one too, but the risk isn't worth the reward for developers. If you truly want to see one built, the City needs to provide bonus density to incentivize developers. Call your local councilor!

    That's very impressive IMO. Must be why they're charging ahead with the other projects. This project will take 2.5-3 years to build, so they have plenty of time to move the other 50 units.

    They have two other projects on 1st Street in the Beltline plus they just purchased the Stampede Station site from Wexford (2 towers). I expect them to start marketing that one once they hit their sales threshold on Lincoln. These guys are very aggressive. Will be fun to watch.

    It's really interesting to watch this and Riverpark come up at the same time. They are similar in a lot of ways. Other than increased spans, I don't understand the motivation behind going with steel. It's more expensive and doesn't seem to be any faster than traditional wood frame construction.

    The problem with movie theatres is if the tenant leaves, you are stuck with a bespoke space that is difficult to re-position.

    Costs increases (labour, materials, capital) have outpaced rent inflation. Large concrete tower projects are very difficult to pencil right now. Rents need to go up a lot or interest rates need to come down, before we see a major wave of activity.
