The Grandstand is my vote for a new stadium. There is a sea of parking there already and a very underutilzed facility. If they can figure out a way to roll the field on and off the existing dirt and add some retractable seating, they can save a pile of money. They'd likely need to be on the road...

I have seen the early renderings for this project. It's very ambitious and I have a feeling most people here are going to like it. It will be a significant improvement on the Cove buildings.

The goal of the subsidy is to create housing in the downtown core. This in turn, increases property tax collections (relative to the amount being collected currently, which is based on land value). In this example, the Gov will recover their subsidy within ~5 years. We need more of this IMO...

This might end up being better than any ground-up development Cidex has completed.

They have set up some billboards on the site with the new renderings. It looks fantastic! The public realm treatment is the very good. Hopefully they don't VE the crap out of it. Will try to get some photos next time.

I was at a game last year when one of those drunks puked on a child located one row in front of him. I would say we desparately need a kids section ;)

It's too bad they didn't use this as an opportunity to open-up this part of the river for more user engagement. They could've taken a page out of the RiverWalk design, by stepping this area down towards the River. Something like this would've been great.

I was wondering this too. Really glad to see that old rusty railing disappear!
