I agree too. It's better than I would have expected.

    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

From what was mentioned from Bkha, there will be some workers retained as contractors, and some executives retained but working remotely. From the article, though, sounds like they are completely vacating.

    Calgary International Airport

Before 9-11 it used to be that you didn't worry about arriving so early. I used to fly a lot on the 90's...like about 40 times a year, sometimes more. I recall many times going to the airport to drop people off, or people dropping me off, and going to one of the pre-check in restaurants and...

Cheap materials, but they kept the colors and random rectangles to a minimum.

If these proposals for 24th get built, it would be quite a nice little urban corridor. Other Proposals Twenty3 2440 22nd St Pius 2103 24th U/C Codetta

    Calgary International Airport

Definitely the trend these days. I remember flight habits being a bit different 25 years ago, for example, it was more common for people to drop someone at the airport and come in with them to see them off. I don't see that as these days. I'm not sure if it's because there's nothing in the...

    Urban Multi-Family Construction Count Tracker

Q3 2025 was another solid one with 1761 units (in developments over 25 units) starting construction and 1239 finishing up. The CF project at Chinook will be added next quarter when there is a driller on site. For the past couple of years Calgary has had a steady stream of around 8-9K of units...

    Weather and Gardening Discussion

I picked the last of the garden today. Still have lots of good sized apples that are slowly getting redder. If they can make it through the weekend threat they'll have another week or so of reddening up.

    Calgary & Alberta Economy

Interesting. This isn't the first time Imperial/Esso has done this. I remember back in the the early 2000's reading articles about Esso laying off 1000 people. Esso was one of my clients back then, and basically they were laid off, but many came back to work as a contractor. Some of the people...

    61st Ave Residential | 64m | 19s | Cadillac Fairview | Zeidler

Thanks @zzkwilliamcanada Either way it sounds like it's probably going ahead. It'll be nice to see some development around that LRT station.

@No_Problem mentioned that they had applied for a BP, so I guess this could be a go 👍

It would be nice if they could find a single tenant, would be much easier. If the UCP has their way, maybe the future Alberta Pension Plan office!

I was also a bit disappointed at first, but I'm good with the density they're proposing. Different story for Crown Park.

    Calgary & Alberta Economy

I suspect there won't be a ton of white collar jobs being moved to the refinery. Most likely some operational mgmt jobs, while a handful of executives stay here and the rest go away altogether.

Still too suburban looking for 11th ave IMO, but better than it was. I won't be losing sleep over this design.

    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

If the green line were up and running through QP, it would help with interest in leasing the office space, but honestly with all the office space downtown, it won't be an easy sell. I think what @Mountain Man said is correct. It'll have to be divvied up into chunks.
