Me too. I thought it was a great idea, some events are female heavy and there are endless lineups, while the men’s ones are half empty.

I’m happy to see Calgary has been consistently seeing 1000 or more multi family units starting in established neighborhoods every quarter. I would bet there are another 1000 being added from smaller builds less than 20 units.

This almost seems stalled. There is some progress, but very little.

We have enough prairie in and around Calgary, but we don’t have enough trees. I don’t have any issue adding more trees to Nose hill. It would be nice to have some trees picnic areas, I mean right now it’s not very useful overall and as been said already there is so much open prairie up there...

That’s looks fair to me. If not a change to the tax system, some other type of incentive is needed. It’s great they were building piles of multi family in the new neighborhoods, and density is better than the previous suburbs, but it’s still sprawl and still adds to the city’s costs.

Absolutely not.

We already do that, that’s what zoning is. It’s not perfect, but it’s still needed. High rises around some of the stations is fine, but I also would like areas that are smaller buildings. My favorite LRT station area by far is Sunnyide, I’d like to see more stations with that kind of vibe.

On its own the materials are bland, but a collection of buildings like this will make for a good streetscape.

A single project like that would be an epic transformation for Calgary and I would love to see that happen, but, Even with the CPR tracks moved and if we didn’t have to worry about remediation, there aren’t enough Calgarian’s who think outside of the box to see a vision like that come to fruition.
