    General Construction Updates

Still looks to be the busiest volume wise for all of downtown so I don't feel so crazy, but that's fair. I'd be perfectly okay with reducing the traffic lanes and widening sidewalks in a heartbeat, even as a vehicle commuter. I actually think it'd probably improve traffic flow in spots by...

    General Construction Updates

The light timing leaving downtown on 5 Ave would like to have a conversation with you, haha. (Admittedly the construction wasn't helping but ever since they added in that EV dual right it's been really bad). When we were back in the office for a bit it takes me about 15 minutes to travel 4...

Calgary Bike Lanes and Bike Paths

I often wondered if the Japanese style bike racks could ever be a thing, although I'm not sure how they really secure they are... but they were neat to see in person. From what I could gather, you basically paid at the Kiosk and put in the stall number... then some sort of mechanism would lock...

Calgary Bike Lanes and Bike Paths

I actually think that's an important piece of the conversation that's missing today. Even in spots where we are starting to have some decent cycling infrastructure, there is a serious lack of options for parking your bike... even more-so a lack of any sort of secure bike parking. I live in the...

    Roads, Highways & Infrastructure

Anyone hear any rumblings on that last little portion of the SW ring road lately?

    General Construction Updates

That's what I heard... New Canadian Tire, and will take the place of Southland store once open. But just the rumor mill so not entirely sure!

    Courtyard 33 | 21.64m | 6s | RNDSQR | 5468796 Architecture

To be fair, the potato quality pics on reddit made it look a lot worse than the ones posted here. I'm not convinced either way yet, but at least they're trying something different?

    Green Line LRT | ?m | ?s | Calgary Transit

Good point - I think BRT is a human behavior thing... At least speaking for me, I live walking distance to a proposed Green Line Station and I'd likely use it.. but if it went BRT I'd probably be much more hesitant, even with a shared ROW. I know it's irrational but that's my mindset going into...

    Green Line LRT | ?m | ?s | Calgary Transit

I'm pretty uneducated on the subject, but I think if you were to include the alternatives the math becomes clear. It's not like transit is a secluded decision, if you don't build transit you end up with strained roadways which results in lost productivity, more expensive goods transportation...

    Green Line LRT | ?m | ?s | Calgary Transit

Not shocking but I bet this has some ripple effects with the green line project delays.. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/calgary-nenshi-construction-projects-1.5989441

    Green Line LRT | ?m | ?s | Calgary Transit

The best part is they're worried about the project going overbudget, so they're delaying it more and burning more cash while delaying portions of the project that aren't a problem anyways.

Not the best pics but snapped a few while walking the dog...

24 street is really underutilized at the moment, but 18 street gets slammed in rush hour (moreso pre-covid though). I live somewhat nearby and personally take 18th nine times out of ten to/from Glenmore as I find it more convenient.
