    Adelaide | 21m | 6s | Truman

This is solid. The arched doorway on the corner takes it from average and adds some urban zest.

    Calgary International Airport

^You can see that YEG has already leveled off starting in 2014. I doubt we’ll see much growth for them in the coming years. It took them longer to flatten out than Ottawa and Winnipeg, but that’s the direction they are going.

    Davenport House | 26m | 7s | Statesman Group | Arup

This rendering shown in an earlier post looks great, but this is kind of density is never gonna happen. They need to take this concept and port it over to Westbrook.

    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

I would say that it makes no difference to the hotel people at this point, as there will be an arena nearby either way. The timing might have more to do with the BMO expansion..

    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

No surprise there. That'll be the case for all large metros in Canada. SFHs are becoming unaffordable, and we might not see that change anytime soon if ever.

I Don’t Regret Moving To Calgary From Toronto

There is a cultural scene, but it’s still in development. I do believe Calgarys’s cultural, seen has made leaps and bounds from what it was 20 years ago and though we still have work to go, we’re heading in the right direction.

    West Tenth 1400 | 24m | 7s | Trimount

Weird, yet another rendering for this project. Same as the other one but shorter, they must have changed it at some point. With the recent rise in rents, I bet they wish they had stuck with 10 floors.

    Hat @ 14th Street | 94.48m | 28s | Cidex Group | NORR

I get that people aren’t happy about the amount of spandrel glass on the Hat in EV, but I don’t get the hate for Spandrel general. There are only A few materials that you can use for a high-rise like this, brick, aluminum or Kompass it paneling, or spandrel glass, or stucco I suppose. Brick is...

    Alberta Provincial Politics

They might do something crazy like spend $1.5bln on a pipeline that doesn’t get built.

    Alberta Provincial Politics

This is exactly why conservative politics in Alberta are in a position where they could end up losing elections for the next decade or more. The cause of this is a big shift in the Calgary vote over the past few years. The rural vote hasn’t changed, they are still socially conservative, and...
