Who will be Alberta's largest metro in a decade?

I wouldn’t use it for teachers salaries, that should come out of the CBE budget like it normally does. It should be used for smaller one time costs like social events, field trips, minor improvements here and there. New basketball hoops, that type of thing. Minor asphalt repairs to the school...

Who will be Alberta's largest metro in a decade?

At $2 million, the schools endowment fund would easily generate $100,000 a year and that’s going with only a basic guaranteed income investment.

    Oakridge Co-op Redevelopment (Oakridge Crossing) | 43.89m | 12s | Calgary Co-op | Sahuri + Partners

Agreed. Housing starts are very sluggish. There are dozens of proposals around, and few of them seem to be moving.

    Verdant at Bow Trail | 20.6m | 6s | Advent | Gravity Architecture

I guarantee there will be opposition, but they won’t have a lot to stand on as this is right across from an LRT station and the city knows this is exactly what is needed.

    Solo on 4th | 16.76m | 5s | Indevelopments | Indevelopments

There was originally a different design by a different developer an architect, so that’s probably why there was a separate thread forward at the time. Same name, but a different project altogether.

    Calgary International Airport

8.5 million PAX in the first 6 months. Not bad at all, edging close to 2019 numbers. Interesting trend in relationship between YEG and YYC. YEG for the first 6 months is 3.2 million. Down from being about half the traffic of yyc in 2019 to now closer to 1/3 the traffic!

    The Wicket Flats | 23.6m | 7s | Omega Properties | Jackson McCormick

This is a great proposal. I would like to see 1000 of these built in Calgary

    Meredith at Edmonton Trail | 14.63m | 4s | Gravity Architecture

I’m going against the grain, but I like the exterior material.

What a difference a couple of weeks makes! Looking at the pic from Chinese-T on May 9 and the one from Surreal on May 28 looks like two different seasons.

    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

In all fairness I didn’t know ‘Oriental’ was a racist term either until just now after Googling it.

    The Vibe | 22m | 6s | CivicWorks | Claroscuro

This is the perfect type of development for that location. I can envision a couple of other low to mid rise buildings across the street as well. I can’t wait to hear the remarks from the community lol.

    Calgary Flames Official Thread

That’s correct, a tiebreaker would go to the Jets because they have more wins. It’s good the flames gave it a run and at least gave the fans some hope but it’s over. If they had a started playing this way, even two weeks earlier, they probably would’ve made it, but this is a case of too little...

    Calgary Flames Official Thread

On the radio they were talking about Sutter and the relationship with the players, apparently there are rumors he has lost the room.

    Calgary & Alberta Economy

My guess for Calgary growth is low 49s, so let’s go with 44K.

    Flyover Block | 20m | 6s | RNDSQR | FAAS Architecture

I have a nervous feeling the outer mesh will be downgraded somehow, but I’m sticking with the ‘it’s better than nothing’ mantra.
