Good points. I think that's a fact that gets lost in this discussion. CSEC is an incredibly inept organization. They can't put out a consistently good product on the ice, and they can't negotiate an arena deal to save their lives.

I recall Nenshi stating that if the arena and stadium were both occupied, it would be impossible to flush the toilets. Wonder if that's still a hurdle.. LOL

The West Village is basically impossible without a CRL. I dunno why this is even a discussion.

The inverted bowl seems like a great idea, but I can understand hesitancy of being the first big arena to implement and the unknown maintenance/long term effects that that decision could yield

I mean... the arena IS LESS of a priority. We already have one. Whether it maximizes the Flames ownership revenue or not, it makes zero impact on The City. Focus on Arts Commons, getting a hotel tenant and the Green Line. The Flames have one of the richest owners in the entire league. Upgrade...

Great summary. I'm excited if that's the case. For taxpayers, a third party joining this is the ABSOLUTE best option for this city (outside of CSEC paying for the whole damn thing themselves).

If a third party actually does emerge, it's going to be amazingly cathartic to see the City call CSEC's bluff.
