    Scotia Place | 36.85m | 11s | CSEC | HOK

I wouldn’t say virtually nil. Not likely, but anything’s possible. Major markets still left would be Houston, Portland, Cleveland, Kansas City, Indianapolis, Charlotte, Cincinnati, San Diego , Orlando, Baltimore or Salt Lake. I purposefully left out Atlanta. Houston, Portland, Orlando and...

    Rivers Edge | 20m | 6s | GBS | NORR

Judging by the update from today, nope they aren’t. Lol. I’m getting a suspicion there is one construction crew doing all of the low rise builds in the city.

    Calgary Transit

I through downtown three or four times a week, but I would be OK with giving the LRT complete right of way. When I travel through downtown, it’s usually mid day off peak hours, and so often I see the train stopped at a red light, only so a handful of cars can pass through. There’s no question in...

Calgary Bike Lanes and Bike Paths

I hope the city extends the cycle track on 5th. As it stands right now, it’s a safety hazard. I don’t ride there as a cyclist, but I do drive up and down that road often and I’ve seen cars almost knock cyclists over due to the lack of space. It’s an accident waiting to happen.

    Arris - 5th and Third | 142.03m | 42s | Embassy Bosa | Amanat Architect

Yup I don’t think it’ll be up there too much longer.

    Calgary's Homeless

I’m also curious about the numbers, and I’m wondering if there are actually less homeless people out there. Trying to do a census on homeless people is difficult, because nobody knows where they are at all times. They mention doing a ‘point in time count’ but you have to question how accurate...

    Inglewood Fire Hall Development | 42m | 12s | RNDSQR | S2

Exactly, if people can’t visit Cold garden or Ol beautiful because that parking lot is gone, then they have bigger things to worry about and like SP said, they can always incorporate city Parkade underground with the development. Not that I love extra parking everywhere, but it wouldn’t be the...

    General Construction Updates

So, add another 20 years to when the green line is finished. 2070 then, well, my grandkids will be able to visit the new improved market.

    Aria Encore | 56m | 17s | Gracorp | Zeidler

I thought I was going to be the hero of the day and let everyone know that there are pile drivers on site but I’m not fast enough on the draw lol.

    Inglewood Fire Hall Development | 42m | 12s | RNDSQR | S2

The parking is owned by one of the businesses in the area, of which I can’t recall but it’s private property as it stands right now. People that visit the pubs park there although they’re technically not supposed to. In that case, the community doesn’t even have an argument in regards to parking.

I Don’t Regret Moving To Calgary From Toronto

As a Calgarian I like these articles, but truthfully, you could find dozens of people who would say why they miss <insert any city here> and dozens who would say why they're glad they moved here from <insert any city here> Really those articles are waste of internet bandwidth.

Calgary named the most liveable city in North America

Exactly. People can debate the merits of the top cities, but if you're at the bottom of the list, it's not a good sign.

    Calgary's Beltline

I thought this was a new thread, but it's from 2016. Somehow I missed it. 😴 I took a walk around 17th ave and also down 4th street today, and both streets were hopping. I know it's due to the good weather, but I haven't seen either of those streets that busy on a winter's day in a while. The...

    Statscan numbers

I saw a conversation on Twitter where someone confirmed they are undercount numbers. That said, Calgary still takes back 4th place even with Ottawa's area change. The Ottawa border change to include Armprior and Carelton Place added 64K to their total giving them a 7K lead over Calgary, but...

University Innovation Quarter | ?m | ?s | University of Calgary Properties Group

I agree with Habanero. Saying that the new units don’t add revenue is just semantics. There will be revenue from these new units and that added revenue from the new units should exceed the added costs and give some kind of net gain. While technically it’s not added revenue overall it’s still a...

    Statscan numbers

You’re spot on when it comes to multi-family. It has been trending that direction for a while, but these numbers will boost that trend even more.

I can’t believe his barren that looks!

    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

I don’t know where the Marriott hotels are, but the project might be listed on the skyrise map https://calgary.skyrisecities.com/map/ Right now only showing three developments.

    Midtown Station | ?m | ?s | IBI Group

I was originally excited about this, but over time I’ve changed my opinion. I’d rather see 4,000 to 5,000 units built somewhere else in the city. In that area alone I’d rather see closer to Chinook mall and the Chinook LRT station or near another station that already exists, like Westbrook...

    West 17 | 35.05m | 10s | Truman | NORR

I wouldn’t call this ugly or even close to to being ugly. I’m happy with the way it’s turned out.
