    Green Line LRT | ?m | ?s | Calgary Transit

Keep in mind Sean Chu didn't really push hard for the NC LRT to go through his ward. Whereas, Shane Keating gave the SE LRT line his full support and fought hard for it.

Right!? This feels like Groundhogs day with Bill Murray. I remember having these debates/discussions 5 years ago with Suburbia on SSP.

    Green Line LRT | ?m | ?s | Calgary Transit

I think it all depends on what the city wants to achieve. NC LRT: More expensive and achieve higher LRT ridership on opening day. SE LRT: Cheaper and attract more first time transit users and thus increase the percent of people taking transit.

I really hope the city can find a way to keep the Saddledome. It's an iconic building in Calgary.

Transit ridership in the S.E. is low because the catchment area is severely underserved by transit. The current BRT is joke and does a winding milk-run route through low populated areas and takes about 45mins from downtown to Mckenzie. The greenline will convert drivers to LRT riders.

    Louis on 9th | ?m | 12s | Landstar

No doubt! I'd be nice if we got something built on that auto dealership on the corner of 9th and 12th and something nice to fill out the east end of 9th.

    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

I think this is the site where the Starbucks, liquor store and Trail appliances sits. You can see the outline of the red barn in the background. It's kinda funny...The strip mall was only built in 2009.

I've heard a lot of people that are part of this project are pissed. There's nothing wrong with doing value engineering. However, to do it at this stage of the game...right before tender...after all the community consultations and open houses. It's madness.

IIRC there will be a new pedestrian crossing over the tracks on the west side of the Inglewood greenline station. Also, I think the river pathway will go under the Ramsay bridge on both sides.

As long as there aren't any 'At-grade' crossings I'm okay with it. We might even be able to get a sweet multi-use pathway along the bridge. Plus, I'd be kind of cool when the train emerges from the bluff and passengers get a brief view of downtown.

But where are the streetcars and fedora's!? Plus...those orwellians buildings in the background don't look too 1940's to me. ?

Fuck me. Not this debate again...

This. You hit the nail on the head. I'd take downtown Calgary 1945 over downtown Calgary 2019 any day.

The Badlands are so underrated! I find most tourist go to Banff and Lake Louise, while a much smaller percent go to the badlands.

I'm pretty underwhelmed with the way the 17th Ave reno's have gone so far.

Lol! Well...it's no Telus Sky to say the least. It's kinda cool that each floor has about 4-6 units. It's tall and skinny :p

I'd respectively disagree. I thought this infill was kind of cool: https://www.google.ca/maps/@51.0512855,-114.0643029,3a,75y,51.94h,120.06t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sUSuMWSegGqy3hw9z9JoxmQ!2e0!7i13312!8i6656...

Yeah, I prefer the 2nd street bikeway. There's hardly any auto traffic and the streets are nice for biking.

    General Construction Updates

To me Seton always seemed like instant urbanism. The pieces are there, but just like you mentioned it isn't walkable. It's kind of funny...AFAIK, since WW2, North American cities haven't been able to create a greenfield 'high street' that is organic and not faux-ish.
