    Transit Oriented Development (TOD) Thread

I really do not understand how or why it has dragged on so long.

    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

This city really needs less input from residents in all honesty. I am glad this never got public consultation earlier.

    Transit Oriented Development (TOD) Thread

https://www.calgary.ca/content/dam/www/pda/pd/documents/current-studies-and-ongoing-activities/anderson-station-tod/anderson-station-arp-proposed.pdf Does anyone remember the Anderson TOD that was proposed? Has there been any updates on this? It has been well over 5 years since we have heard...

    Calgary Regional Rail Transit

https://edmonton.ctvnews.ca/race-to-build-high-speed-calgary-edmonton-rail-on-with-second-pitch-1.5502158 Can't wait to see this start construction! It is far more viable than the TransPod proposal.

    Green Line LRT | ?m | ?s | Calgary Transit

NIMBYs have far too much say in this city honestly. We spoil them rotten.

    Green Line LRT | ?m | ?s | Calgary Transit

Really this is the best thing to do, otherwise if you try and go ahead with an $8.5 Billion project, the AB government for sure would kill it. This isn't an Oil and Gas project after all.

    Trees in Calgary

Calgary doesn't? That blows my mind. Calgary needs that law more than Vancouver does even.

    Scotia Place | 36.85m | 11s | CSEC | HOK

That is good to hear. Hopefully ground support makes sure this new Rivers District isn't another failure, but instead more akin to East Village.

    Scotia Place | 36.85m | 11s | CSEC | HOK

I recall this earlier, I believe this is only temporary right? So that parking lot will be getting developed eventually.

    Scotia Place | 36.85m | 11s | CSEC | HOK

This would be a non starter idea from the Flames though. This is not 1982 anymore and no one wants this. If it is part of what they are getting, then this just goes back to the city. It will never be allowed to happen. Gutting the public realm for parking in a downtown revitalized area is...

    1st St Chinatown Tower Development | ?m | 28s | El Condor Lands | Perkins + Will

Luckily the asshat who is in charge of the Chinatown Association is running to replace Druh in Council! That will be a massive step back for any inner city representation. Dark time ahead if he ends up winning.

West Village Towers | 149.95m | 42s | Cidex Group | NORR Dubai Yahya Jan

Okay when are they going to remove the white film or whatever it is from the crown of the completed tower? It looks stupid and makes no sense. The ventilation I have no idea why they haven't been forced to paint it by the city.

Do you know that this will be happening? I believe it will as well, or is this tubing the finished product?

    Green Line LRT | ?m | ?s | Calgary Transit

You know the word thing about other cities? They actually invest in their society without a boom. Calgary will be fine as long as start thinking long term. Oil is never booming up here again, but that it fine. Boom and bust cycle is extremely precarious and now well either Get off it, or...

    Green Line LRT | ?m | ?s | Calgary Transit

We shall see. But I think it will be successful as ridership is always higher in Canada vs the USA.

    Green Line LRT | ?m | ?s | Calgary Transit

Yes and good thing too. Calgary finally seems to be learning from the mistakes of always being cheap. We’ll see when the Green Line goes ahead though. Shovels should already be in the ground by now. It’s been five years.
