It is Calgary. The answer is Never. Pathetic really, but we aren't really ever going to be a 'city'.

The problem is actually restrictive zoning that is harming Ontario. The Greenbelt is just an easy scapegoat for the fact that they will not allow any sort of densification at all across enormous swathes of the cities neigbourhoods.

They should not be allowed to build it this way. They should be forced to make it retail. Why in the world in 2022 would this City allow any more office space to be built in the downtown core?

I know. However that block is a total dump. Especially when you compare to whats across the street with Telus Sky... Terry Wong might actually help preserve the heritage buildings and force a bit of a redesign on 7th Ave. Enemy of my enemy and all that in this one case.

No reason that portion can't be redesigned, It isn't too much of an ask this early in the process.

Honestly I get the sentiment, but just go down there. It isn't nice along 7th Avenue and hasn't been for I do not even know how long. It is in an excellent location that needs a boost like this in density for residential. Maybe the city can get them to incorporate the old heritage buildings...

Calgary is going to fall behind Edmonton if they don't make good steps forward like this.

As if. Calgarians freaked out over the Guidebook for Great Communities thanks to gaslighting. We will just be like Vancouver that way. Without any of some of the proper planning or TODs, they have.

I hope the design is not too much different, however Metro Ford is moving to Taza next year and they will be doing prep site work for One Properties new building on this site. Does anyone have any changed designs, or would this be used? Either way I know the plan is four towers with retail/mall...
