    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

One thing I find about those non-descript towers is they only look interesting if surrounded by older early 20th century masonry buildings. It's the contrast that makes them 'pop'. The first thing I'd like to see is widening of the sidewalks into the street vs waiting another 50+ years for all of the buildings built close to the road to be replaced.

Seems 6 stories fronting Radnor Ave and the alley stepping down to 2-3 stories on the North and East frontages would make sense.

    Stephen Avenue Quarter | 241m | 66s | Triovest | Gibbs Gage

As per the file manager last week: Applicant hasn't sent in a modified proposal to respond to the detailed team review sent to them in July. Applicant had extended the time frame to respond, new deadline is end of January but of course that can be extended again.

City of Calgary planning approval process

Me again. Another question about the approval process. Sometimes an application goes to council with a recommendation to not approve by CPC. In what scenarios does the planning dept stop negotiating with an applicant and sends a proposal that does not meet the department's asks to CPC leading...

    Water-cooler discussion thread

If UBI is almost double minimum wage then yes, and especially if UBI implementation also means min wage goes away completely since the UBI might replace it. I haven't been following UBI discussions, what was the desired amount as compared to minimum and living wages?

    Roads, Highways & Infrastructure

I recall seeing an old ring road map that not only listed more or less the current one under construction but also where the next one might be located. Probably something from the 50s-80s. Anyone remember or have that handy?

    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

I have already heard from a few owners who designated their homes/buildings who will be looking to have it removed if Council allows it to be removed from 5+ downtown, as they feel that will prove it to be a pointless restriction, So yes if the Stephen Ave proposal goes through as proposed that...

Yes, Center Street should be Calgary's Yonge St, extending through and even out of the city.
