    Glenmore Landing | 115m | 35s | RioCan | NORR

Which is strange because the renderings show all the development on the existing developed parcel.

So I'm seeing this shared around Instagram today. From what I can tell the "ripping out the forest behind them" is bullshit?

Fun fact, that building is in one of the new North Hill Heritage Guidelines areas lol. Obviously it was approved before those guidelines took effect.

    Calgary 2019 Civic Census

Any idea if this lot development is ever going to get going? Looks like those signs were put up in 2012... https://www.google.com/maps/@51.2913896,-114.0133908,3a,75y,133.76h,88.61t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sGTcyhPcejxPxTA7I6XqfNA!2e0!5s20230401T000000!7i16384!8i8192?hl=en-CA&entry=ttu It would...

    Roads, Highways & Infrastructure

This is probably off topic but it involves roads and right of ways so I thought smart people might be able to answer this. When you have a rural road that ends, but the right of way continues through the land beyond the ending of the road, is that public access? e.g. Ranche Rd near Cochrane. It...

Maybe I'll submit something to 311. In my head confusion = accidents.

Calgary Bike Lanes and Bike Paths

I've been curious about the traffic flow at 22nd Ave and 2nd St NW. Barriers were put in (this air photo is old, the temporary ones shown are now replaced by permanent. I have added the traffic control signage. two small yield signs warning cyclists who are crossing the barrier to yield to...

    Scotia Place | 36.85m | 11s | CSEC | HOK

Confirmed, however it does allow for relocation

    Scotia Place | 36.85m | 11s | CSEC | HOK

New wrinkle, it looks like the building is legally protected, but by an agreement outside of the typical heritage designation bylaw.

    Scotia Place | 36.85m | 11s | CSEC | HOK

In fact if you wanted to retain more of the existing context, you could keep it on a corner like it was originally

    Scotia Place | 36.85m | 11s | CSEC | HOK

I agree that the context of the community is pretty much trashed already. What would probably make sense is if it has to be moved just stick it on some rails and slide it half a block to the east from here to here

    Scotia Place | 36.85m | 11s | CSEC | HOK

I'm not sure what could be done with that small commercial building but if this was the criteria for heritage value then nothing would be considered significant.

    Infill Development Discussion

It might be similar to the Nimmons house where designation is the plan but there's no point designating and then needing to de-designate to modify the building for the project. With Nimmons they instead had a protective bylaw that covered the protection but allowed the project work, with...

It's not legally protected but I guess the developer has agree to keep it regardless I'd like to see more of this with corner heritage sites, like this, like Red's diner building in the Beltline, and maybe the corner portion of the Tigerstedt block that the sign is mounted on?

100%, The first photo is Riverside Iron Works building(s) https://www.calgary.ca/arts-culture/heritage-sites/scripts/historic-sites.html?dhcResourceId=701 Imagine turning that into a brew pub and market "meet you down at the ironworks for beers and the night market"
