Stephen Ave can be lively if the weather is nice.. On Friday/Saturday evenings, people fill the patios from about Centre St to 3 St SW. I'm not sure how late into the night that goes, though.

Offsite self-parking can definitely be weird. But I don't think I've ever had valet parking that wasn't available 24x7 with in/out privileges. The only downsides were cost per day, and having to wait for your car when you want to leave.

I think the point is more that these large, dense development projects are happening in places that will never be served by LRT, when there is TOD potential at several spots in the existing network.. Some developments like Springbank Hill and West District are kind of close to the west LRT, but...

Didn't we used to have Sunoco gas stations here? (I may be thinking of when I used to live in Ontario)

The DP is still in the advertising period for another couple of weeks.

It looks like this project is called 1905 College now. (I saw the gigantic 1905 on @1875's photo and decided to check)

Looks like the DP was approved, but the Land use redesignation was cancelled, so I suppose one didn't depend on the other.

Updated to add the developer (Casa Ridge).

Looks like this would replace Turn it Up records. Hope they're able to move to a new location.

Was by here, and noticed that the lot has been cleared - the bungalows were all torn down.

I can see that changing after the 3 recent projects off 14th on the other side of the river - 1400 West 10th, Hat, Sunalta Heights.

I always assumed EQ filled most of that tower next door on 8 St, but it sounds like they only ever had about 50 people there. Wonder if the EQ logo will be on the new location going forward, or if it will retain its ATCO signage.

I don't hate it, except the way it looks.

Renaming this to Riverside Village, to match the DP submission.

Unfortunately that link doesn't seem to be working for me. I searched and it looks like the City of Calgary posted that exact link on this page, so maybe this is an intermittent failure.
