    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

That would be great as it would largely connect a lot of the inner with a single transit line. Another less extensive idea that might be fairly inexpensive is a streetcar line from 17th ave Westbrook --> 14th street --> 10th ave --> 4th street SW --> 17th ave Westbrook. It skips out on 1st...

    1150 Centre Street SE | 121.5m | 37s | Oxford Properties | Zeidler

Most of those are things not done very often, and some of those you don’t need to go into a branch for anymore. Still, the banks keep opening branches.

    1150 Centre Street SE | 121.5m | 37s | Oxford Properties | Zeidler

I’m amazed when I look at how many high rise towers have been built in the time since the oil industry hit the skids.

    The Theodore | 35.66m | 10s | Graywood | Arcadis

Kensington has been on a roll ever since Pixel.

    19+2 | 16m | 5s | EC Living | FAAS Architecture

Is it me or does it seem like there is no progress?

    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

I like it already without even seeing the rest of the rendering.

    Brentwood Commons | 85m | 24s | Casola Koppe

As far as TODs in Calgary go, Brentwood is the closest thing to one.

    Crosstown | 88m | 30s | Anthem

Good to hear. Sounds like the project is still in play to some degree.

This proposal is a lot like the one in Britannia, which turned out very well. Hopefully this gets done.

    Flyover Block | 20m | 6s | RNDSQR | FAAS Architecture

I agree, there isn’t much reason for council not to approve this. There’s no downside to it. The biggest question is whether RNDSQR is too busy to build it.

    Covid-19

Disappointing action by Kenny today. It's obvious he's more worried about pandering to business and the freedumb protesters. I understanding wanting to try and keep businesses open, but bars and casinos? Is it because they generate more tax revenue for the government so we better keep them open...

    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

IDK about ridiculous. Torode's Ingelwood development has come under fire, and while I agree the exterior material choices could have been better, it checks off all the other boxes. It's one of the busiest corners in Inglewood, has a nice rooftop patio and has added to the general vitality of the...

Will be a huge improvement from what's there now

I haven't heard anything about 4th Spot. I was there yesterday, and they were still going.

    Dominion | 53m | 15s | Bucci Developments | Urban Agency

Part of me hopes they don't put the balcony cladding on. I like the thin profiled look it has going.

    Oliver | 121.3m | 35s | Centron | Gibbs Gage

They aren't wasting any time on this. The great thing about the podium being done already, is the tower will go up quickly.

    933 - 5Th Ave | 34.14m | 9s | HomeSpace | IBI Group

If they stuck with all white and another color for accent, this would go from a 4/10 to a 7/10. It has the makings of a solid boutique project, but the colors are dragging it down.

    11th + 11th | 138.07m | 44s | Intergulf | Ramsay Worden

    This one is looking good.

West Village Towers | 149.95m | 42s | Cidex Group | NORR Dubai Yahya Jan

The podium isn't good but the towers are okay. I wish there were more low rise towers west of downtown rather than a few tall towers surrounded by surface lots.
