    General Construction Updates

I literally can’t stand that guy’s articles. His latest one about the out of town developers fleeing is another example of how bad he is.

    Park Central | 138m | 40s | Hines | S.C.B.

Anyhooo back to Park Central. Phase 2 will be good to see for a number of reasons. It’ll be more density, in the heart of the Beltline. It’ll also be great to see the empty parking lot disappear, especially in an area that has seen so much improvement over the last five years.

    Park Central | 138m | 40s | Hines | S.C.B.

AFAK Qualex still own the land, so they haven’t gone anywhere. Qualex still owns the land, so they never really left in the first place. Same for the other developers who have supposedly left. That dumbass article by Richard White has given a bunch of people the wrong impression. Fram is the...

Easily. This has set a new bar in Calgary.

    Calgary Municipal Politics

I chose Gondek for now, but this new candidate Damery may have some promise. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/mayor-city-council-election-candidates-1.6014228 From the article: She's pledging to oversee a revitalization of downtown and turn it into a thriving neighbourhood where people...

    General Construction Updates

I’m going to read through the city’s literature to find out what happened to the cycle portions in Zone 2 and 3. It’s pointless to have cycle tracks at each end of the stretch but not in the middle 🤨

    Covid-19

Alberta’s response to the pandemic has been pathetic. Soon we’ll be more than Ontario in raw numbers at the rate we’re going.

    Hat @ 14th Street | 94.48m | 28s | Cidex Group | NORR

Is it because the friend is from out of country? I know someone who moved into Aura, and they didn’t have to pay 6 months up front.

    Courtyard 33 | 21.64m | 6s | RNDSQR | 5468796 Architecture

That's correct. It was originally going to be condos, but was changed to rentals early in the construction. That's the market these days. In 5-10 years who knows, we might see all of these projects being converted to condos.

    ARC 33 | 22m | 6s | RNDSQR | S2

I find all developments turn out different than the renderings, but in the end I've liked the way all of RNDSQR's projects have turned out.and you're right, at the end of the day they are better than than the typical development. Who knows how this one will look when finished, but if it's...

    Infill Development Discussion

I like it for the most part, but it's too bad the garage entrances aren't at the back of the property instead. Maybe there's no alleyway?

All the times I looked at this rendering, I never noticed the light sculpture was included.

Which inner city area is king?

There's no right answer of course, but thought this would be a good discussion topic. All of Calgary's main inner city spots are thriving and continually improving. Which one is the best and why? Which one has the most potential?

    Experiences at other forums

After visiting SSP, you get the feeling that Quebecers, and Montrealers are born with a hate on for Calgary and the west. lol. In my times visiting Quebec however, the people have been very friendly, it seems to be just the people on SSP who are asshats.

    Dominion | 53m | 15s | Bucci Developments | Urban Agency

I was worried the balcony cladding at the top would look bulky, but it's all good. This is going to be uber cool when completed.

    Steps Bridgeland | 18m | 6s | Giustini Development | Sturgess

The final product isn't as cool as the original renderings, but it's still better than average development IMO. It's a really nice addition to Bridgeland.
