    Calgary to Canmore Trail

I remember the trail just ending in the middle of a field. Someone told me the adjacent landowner wouldn't give permission for the path to go through his land, but maybe that has changed. Once Calgary connects through to Cochrane, the next phase should be out to Ghost Lake.

Not alot of action in the last 3 months, but the last pic shows a worker on site, so they must be still going.

    Calgary to Canmore Trail

If this is going through, that's excellent. I wonder though, how they are getting it all the way through? I recall this was proposed a while ago, but there was a landowner who wouldn't allow it on his land.

    Calgary & Alberta Economy

One thing not shown in the market reports is how much of Montreal/Quebec VC money comes from Quebec itself. Caisse Dejardins and Invetissement Quebec, and a couple of other Quebec based funds make up for most of the the Quebec VC money. From what I've heard Calgary gets theirs from a much...

Couldn't agree more. I have a coworker who moved here from Ottawa 6 months ago and lives way out by Spruce Meadows. He and his wife visited the Beltline for the first time last week, and now want to move downtown.

Calgary Bike Lanes and Bike Paths

That would be nice. Though when I'm driving, I have used it a few times due to its handiness.

Calgary Bike Lanes and Bike Paths

I would like to see 34th all the way down to 14th, and then a cycle lane down 14th. A cycle lane down 14th is probably a pipe dream, but one can still dream :)

Calgary Bike Lanes and Bike Paths

100% agree. They're better than nothing, but not much better IMO. The ones I can't stand are the bike route chevrons, I'm pretty sure half of the drivers out there don't even know what they're for.

I can't believe I missed this one starting construction. Hard to keep up with all the action around Calgary.

The white white panels do look good at night though, they have a soft reflective look that works with the building.

    Infill Development Discussion

I like the house too. I'm not sure about the context of how it fits in with the other houses, but if this was in Mount Royal, Pump hill etc... I'd like it more.

    BTYYC | 24m | 6s | Eagle Crest | Davignon Martin

Kind of a weird looking building, but I'll take it. This is the first project of this scale for 24th ave. Hopefully this will spur Eagle to start some of those other proposals.

Calgary Bike Lanes and Bike Paths

That's the route I took last time I cycled down to Fish Creek, and I would agree, it's the best path to take. I haven't been that way for a while, but that cut off is kind of a pain. It'll be so nice when they get that Bonnybrook stretch open again.

    Calgary Municipal Politics

Won't be a surprise, but it appears, Chu only managed to squeak past because of the advanced polls. image https://twitter.com/lucasjacklucas

The park looks good so far. It's certainly better than the old park.

Big time. Especially 10th, it really needs some upgrading.

If a staircase was built up the hill in between the parkade and the mixed use building, it would come out somewhere just west of the Jube and have somewhat decent access to the LRT station, but yeah, overall, not ideal.

    Calgary Retail Thread

CO-OP is a funny one. They’re mostly local to Calgary and generally thought of as more expensive than the others, so you’d think they’d be ripe for a takeover but they persist. The stores I’ve been tend to be busy all the time, especially the Midtown store, and it’s only get to get busier once...

    General Construction Updates

Good to see another development on 1st Ave, too bad it’s not 2 or 3 floors.
