I think the land use they got approved was also tailored to remove some of the relaxations the DP had (thus making it easier to appeal). It is still a discretionairy use, but the idea being that the specific DC they wrote should make their project much more of a sure thing.

I don't think so. I am not 100% sure, but I think the Walmart is going to the north of Metro Ford, across from Tsuut'ina Gas. Eagle landing was a comprehensive commercial development on the parcel between the reservoir and the casino.

A bit more information is now available on the community website, including an updated map that shows the location of these 3 projects. Based on this updated map, it looks like the Eagle Landing commercial project from earlier in this thread is no longer happening...

Yep. Back when Killam had the site, I think a very early concept showed 3 towers. They then had a 2 tower DP (very tall, not the best looking) that never proceeded. Site got split up, Cantiro's tower in this thread on the west side, and the above linked Cidex one for the east side.
