I picked Damery. I hadn't heard of her until a couple of weeks ago, but I like her ideas.

Would be great if it was. My money is on the Cressey proposal, if one of them is to go ahead.

I hope that's not the case, but to be honest I'd be surprised if it was. I've spent a fair bit of time at the Good Earth across the street and a lot of the people coming and going from the building are of different ethnicity. My guess is it's because he's from out of country. My ex-girlfriend...

I somehow missed this earlier, and have only one thing to say. Build a thousand of these!

I like that idea of using an improvement tax to bury telephone poles. It doesn’t have to be done everywhere in the city, but it would be great for high profile areas.

The folks who live there now, have it great with the building only partly occupied.

Not the prettiest bunch of buildings, but the density is good. It's too bad this wasn't developed on the parking lots across from Chinook Centre.

I know not everyone likes the 6 storey wood frame projects, but they have been a game changer for boosting density. I expect we will see a lot more projects like this.

    Infill Development Discussion

Along streets like 4th street or 5th street you could do higher density, maybe 6-8 floors. Rowhousing is fine for side avenues.

    Infill Development Discussion

6 unit developments on corner lots is the hot new trend. Fine by me, it's a good way to boost density without overwhelming the surroundings.

9th street is going to be a decent little stretch once all the construction is done. It's too bad there wasn't a resto with patio attached to the community centre.

19K is a good solid number. It doesn't need to be more than that, but less than 18K is too small IMO.

    ARC 33 | 22m | 6s | RNDSQR | S2

The one difference would be that there are houses in behind the buildings that would be on the north side of 33rd, whereas there are more buildings in behind the buildings on north side of 34thave. That said, 4 storeys on the north side of 33rd shouldn't be a shadow problem. Maybe even 5 storeys.

    ARC 33 | 22m | 6s | RNDSQR | S2

Can't say I disagree with that. I've always preferred the low rise feel of a main street with density in behind, but that's just my opinion. I am happy that it's being kept to at least 6 stories and not 8, 10 or 12, etc.. My own preference would be that all of 33rd was lined with buildings...

    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

It seems so. I haven't heard anything either way, but with this latest proposal coming out, it make me think RNDSQR Block is on the backburner.

All the construction sites have been quiet due to the cold. I passed by Dorian and there was nobody on site.

The gray brick on the podium looks great. I'm not a fan of the beige multi-colored brick.

I could get behind that. It would make a nice little transit run from Bridgeland to Sunalta.
