I haven't been down to Kensington area for some time now. How are the businesses doing these days? There were a number of them closing down during the pandemic.
Beautiful might be strong, but it’s about as beautiful as you'll see for a development in that location. Here in Calgary I think we can get away with calling it beautiful. 😉
The NDP defeating the united right would get a lot of media attention. The national narrative, for Alberta would start to change.
As much as the national media likes to focus on the redneck stereotype of Alberta, the same national media would also love to run with the story of left defeating...
The new one is a much better design IMO, due to the materials, and the general massing but to be honest, even the old design as bad as it was, was still a win for this particular parcel.
Man, the Flames are struggling lately. I know that three of the last four losses have been against teams with better records, but still. Doesn't seem to be any chemistry on that top line.
I chose NDP. I'm not even a huge fan of the NDP the party, but I like Notley as a leader, and a message needs to be sent to the UCP -This is the 21st century, and urban areas and urban issues are where you need to focus,
It’s not half bad. I can still remember what it looked like when it was a crumbling parking lot with a rundown Chinese restaurant, covered in pink stucco.
True, clients are the ones that would end up having to pay the difference, but Truman and Avi Urban for example have managed to do nice projects in west district in University District so you would think it would be doable given the location.
The city always has the option to give incentives for other uses besides an empty lot.
Maybe give a tax break if they turn it into a basketball court or something like an RV lot as you had mentioned.
I think the frontage is on Harrison and Avenue 33 are good with the exception of the slope situation.. Every new development I’ve seen that’s on the slope treats the slope the way Harrison and Avenue 33 does it.

Not necessarily, I think this is the same material used for the benches along the pathway in Eau Claire. It’s been three years now and those benches still look new.
