Construction update, 4th floor is complete, 5th floor framing is underway. There is a large gap in the middle of the building which will be filled in with structural steel which has been delayed by several weeks.

There is definitely some repetition of materials but if you get on site and look closely, you will actually see that the blue on each building is slightly different.

I love the light coloured spandrel panel. Makes the building feel lighter and provides a nice contrast with the darker ribbed aluminum.

This one will be interesting and will add some pop to the street along 33rd. The "floating" window bay projections will give it a unique look with more character than some of the older multi-family projects in the area. This, combined with projects like Courtyard 33 at the other end of 33rd are...

Walked past this yesterday, the cladding is coming along and looks pretty sharp!

I drove by this yesterday and it is looking really good. My main concern is that all those natural cedar shakes are going to be a maintenance nightmare for the owners down the road...

Gorgeous! I love this style and it kind of reminds me of the Vancouver House project. It's not cheap to build but damn it looks great!

    The Windsor | ?m | 6s | Arlington Street | NORR

I drove by this one yesterday and it is actually looking really great. After a some fits and starts and a complete re-design, I think this project is going to be a welcome addition a growing community hub.

And if the land isn't already owned by developers it is owned by individuals who have been prospecting in the hopes of selling to a developer. Land prices in the area are already extremely expensive. Cowtown is right in suggesting that lots of parcels will remain as is until the market is right...

I would think Surrealplaces was just referencing Batistella's tendency to incorporate bold pops of colour into their projects. Also excited to see a rendering for this one!

I'm going to withhold final judgement until all the cladding is on but I agree, the initial application of the shakes is underwhelming

Interested to see what comes out on this project. Batistella typically designs interesting buildings so I’m excited to see what they come up with!

    The Windsor | ?m | 6s | Arlington Street | NORR

Yes they redesigned it from a retail/office mixed use to a retail/residential mixed use which is a huge undertaking but a smart one given the current market for office space in Calgary. I disagree about the recent progress through, they are moving very slow for wood frame construction.

    The Windsor | ?m | 6s | Arlington Street | NORR

This project will be an interesting addition to the street corner but they need to get moving, construction has been painfully sloooooowwwww.

    Avenue 33 | ?m | 5s | Sarina Homes | FAAS Architecture

Hmmm, I'm not sure about the manufacturing location question.... I do know that brick is expensive from both a supply and install standpoint here (its a long, tedious install), but I don't know exactly all of the inputs contributing to the supply cost. I really like the black metal panel on...
