Some of the online literature is old and still shows it as a hotel, but it will be regular rental units.

    Calgary International Airport

I wonder how many of us have here on the forum have had that pent-up travel urge. My family and some friends can be counted as taking advantage of the direct flight to Paris, with 8 of us going.

That’s only the vapor barrier on the outside. They still have to put some panels or stucco and then the mesh.

Selling those units to locals would be a tough sell due to the reputation of the area but it won’t be hard to sell it to out of town investors, or even out of town people looking to live there. The area has its problems for sure but it’s no worse than most cities. In fact, it’s probably a lot...

They really are moving quickly on this site after having it sit for two years.

Funny I was thinking the opposite. On that south side it’s all window except for about 20%.

It’s from a webcam. In person it’s brighter looking, but also today the sky is quite hazy.

IMO the install looks better than what we typically see with these metal panels. I don’t have any issue with the tiles, my biggest issue is the concoction of different materials. Even then I don’t mind it. It’s better than the usual run of the mill.

These won’t be retail work from home units, they’ll be more like the professional services type that you mentioned.

I too sympathize with homeowners having to be forced out of their home, but sometimes things have to be done for the greater good. I do hope they are well compensated for it.

Calgary Bike Lanes and Bike Paths

Because it’s the City of Calgary and they couldn’t call themselves the city of Calgary if they did something sensible. The plan was only temporary for the third Avenue cycle track, so some bureaucrats somewhere in the city, looked at the timeline and thought OK. time to take it out, without any...

    Crescent Road Master Plan | ?m | ?s | City of Calgary

I’m thinking for cases like that, as long as they allow handicap spots, that should be OK. I mean handicap spots should be a must have at the very least.

The area is chalk full of single family homes, nobody would miss any of the ones on 19th if they were turned into mix-uss developments.

    Alberta Provincial Politics

I agree people in Alberta don’t really go for centrist parties but they would vote in a right of centre party over and over. Sadly, we even managed to vote in a group of far right nut jobs. I disagree about the NDP in 2015. They only won because of vote splitting on the right. They had 40% of...

Who will be Alberta's largest metro in a decade?

I’m curious to why we’re even debating this? It’s obvious to anyone that Calgary will be the largest city in a decade, and probably will be forever.

    Calgary Flames Official Thread

With the Flames out this year I thought I might cheer for the Oilers, but a couple of obnoxious Oiler fans at work put an end to that. After Vegas knocked them out, I poured myself a celebration drink knowing I wouldn’t have to listen to them anymore.
