70 story high-rises would be great, but on 17th? IMO low rises are a better fit for 17th. I’ll gladly take a 70 story tower on 10th or 11th Ave. though.

That’s the one single thing I like about it. I wish there was another way to encourage development or conversions downtown without having to use taxpayer funded money.

I was in Vancouver back in May and also noticed the more frequently schedule on the sky train. I have to admit it’s nice arrive at a station and know that if you miss the train another one will be along shortly. Maybe for the city could experiment by having single or dual car trains, but more...

There are a couple that started even before pixel, if I’m remembering my dates correctly. There is the one on the south east corner of fifth Avenue and 14th St., and there was Ven as well. If memory serves me correctly, van was finishing up around the time pixel was starting.

Two things. 1) Calgary not having Banff wouldn’t help Winnipeg’s numbers. Edmonton doesn’t have a Banff and is also cursed with having Calgary 3 hours away by car, yet still handles twice as many passengers as YWG. 2) AC scaling back at YYC will have very little if any affect at all on Winnipeg...

The density is good, but it feels like density for the sake of density, or even more like a developer wanting to plant 324 units in the middle of nowhere. I’d rather this was being built in West District or U/D where the area is better laid out, or the Brentwood LRT parking lot. Aside from that...

It’s very unexciting. I would’ve liked something more Beltline, and less suburban but I won’t lose any sleep over it.

10th Ave SW, 10th Street NW, 6th Ave in EV, 9th in Bridgeland have all seen some big changes, but 10th Ave., has definitely seen the biggest density change.

For a suburban development it’s very solid. This would look great across from Chinook.

Agreed, having a hotel in that location would’ve been nice. Imagine visitors coming to Calgary staying there, would have a different impression than some other one to stay downtown just off fourth Avenue.
