My entire opinion of this project is based solely on Tres Marias and to a lesser extent, Saffron Bistro, being able to relocate within the neighbourhood. They are an absolute staple in my household.

The liquor store just closed up shop and the apartment building had some boarding up on the basement windows when I walked by yesterday. Wonder if places are getting ready for the inevitable. I'll have to ask Tres Marias next time I'm in there....

Don't worry, there's a Local across the street and whatever is in the old Buffalo 1886 Cafe building now. Nothing like turning a (flawed for sure) destination into a parking lot.

I love the setback. Keep the part that interacts with the pedestrians more human scaled.

Doens't feel as imposing as I thought it would walking along the South side of 33rd. So that's good. I'm hoping a few of the businesses that will be displaced when Plaza 34 gets underway will find a new home in this building. I doubt it as I imagine rents will be significantly more expensive...

Now with half better sidewalks. The work is only half done currently and will be incomplete even when the Main Streets project is done. Even the "loop within the loop" is half amazing, half "why the fuck didn't they finish the job". It's not going to be complete because of the pending Plaza 34...

Do half of the job really nice and leave the other half unfinished?

I really like this building. There's density, but the portion of the building that interacts with the street level is more human scale.

Anything with a shred of history in this city gets demolished because we're too cheap to maintain that history. Then people complain there's no history in this city.

Can Leonard Development Group buy this? Please?

I like what the plan shows for 34 Ave and 20 St. 33 Ave could be okay but it depends on how the interaction with street level is, usually Co-op or Safeway are just big concrete walls. The Blush Lane kitty corner from this site is a good example of what I think works well as they have that garage...

Marda Loop Main Streets update. Telephone poles on 34th Ave are gone. 33rd and 34th are back to two way streets. Looks like the majority of the work on 33rd is done as well as the South portion of 34th.
