Someone dropped off a mailer in my mailbox yesterday regarding opposition. The usual concerns: Density, slippery slope, parking, shadows, etc.
They also tried to kill the project on 22nd Ave and 4th Street but that's currently going ahead.
I could be wrong but I think the smallest building in waterfront has never been offered for sale. It's the 4 story building and I believe it's only 8 units.
This is great news. Hopefully pushes Safeway Properties to redevelope that heinous office building next door. I dream that one day that 4th Street can turn into 19th in West Hillhurst
To be fair, it's probably a lot safer for pedestrians now. They've removed the rush for vehicles to turn against traffic and over the marked crossing. Now I'm fully on team scramble for that intersection.
See a scramble on 11th and 4th? I'm not sure there is a need for that. I could get behind one on 17th and 4th or 8th.
Those Eau Claire scrambles are poorly implemented. The lights are timed too long for vehicles and most of the movement is North/South. The addition of the scramble just makes...

Was this supposed to be condos at one point and got capped and turned into a parade?
I'm no McDonald's hater but I am a litter hater. I don't know what it is about that place but all locations are usually surrounded by burger wrappers and cups within a 3 block radius.
The rebar on those columns seems to indicate the next level is the roof. Are they going wood frame on top to bring this up to 10 stories? I can't think of another building like this if that's the case.
Is there a reason that it's setback so far from 2nd Ave? Seems to line up with the building to the east but the LaCaille building on the west spans the full block.
But where else can I park my car? There are only *checks notes* seven surface parking lots within one block of Park Point. Not to mention the one under construction and the CPA parkade on 10th.
I just had a great dinner at Mercado's new sister restaurant Sorella on Centre St. I can't remember if this project was highlighted in this thread 1010 Centre St NW but the project has turned out so well. What was there previously was a brick bunker with a chiropractic office and zero street...
