    General Construction Updates

If it's getting replaced, I want to see something like this: and link: https://phillyyimby.com/2023/03/construction-complete-at-the-bordeaux-in-brewerytown-north-philadelphia.html

    1st Ave NE Shoppers | 12m | 2s | First Capital | Collabor8

Love this. Beside the 'BRIDGELAND' letters on memorial and 9th they should have a huge illuminated sign for "ARBY'S THIS WAY! WE"VE GOT THE MEATS!" to round this proposal out

That building is really cool, I like it a lot. Cool material choices and a clever way to approach the 5.182m public realm setback. Nice work FAAS and kudos whoever the builder/developer is.

    General Construction Updates

Was down there this weekend and although it is a mess short term, boy are these public realm changes a major improvement. Happy to see it when its all done and want to see more of this

    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

With all of the new developments happening on 16 Ave N and Macleod Trail recently, it is becoming increasingly important for the City of Calgary to create and complete well-thought out Streetscape Master Plans for these areas. Not only for the developments that are in the pipeline now, but to...

It is why i shit post about materials, eventually when i scream into the void someone might listen haha. I'm a firm believer that good design doesn't have to be expensive just requires some extra thought

    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

I really want to see them build out a year round fair ground and place for entertainment that integrates with the City. Best I've been to and what I would hope to see something similar to is Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen. Here is a comparison of the land that Tivoli gardens takes up compared to...

    Office Space Conversion

Somewhat off topic. What do you all think should happen with the Hudson Bay building considering its floor plate size and with the new HBC announcement?

    Uxborough Phase 1 | 45m | 14s | Western Securities | Gibbs Gage

Try to use it. They added one to a Crowchild overpass too and it is bad, I have tried to use it. Here is a streetview showing it: Just goes to show it was a lipstick improvement made by someone who has never used one of these before and drives everywhere. I mean good on them for trying and...

    Uxborough Phase 1 | 45m | 14s | Western Securities | Gibbs Gage

What a garbage design for a bike ramp. Good luck with not banging your handle bars against the picket railing. Saw they added some trays for this on existing ped ramps and they are completely unusable on the other ones I’ve seen. Maybe this one is wider but the retrofit ones I saw were unusable...

Happy it’s an office conversion but good lord. Some of the $75psf top up should’ve been for hiding this with trees from every angle

This development rules, make the materials good and it’s an A+

I like it a lot but I worry about the economics of the project. Was better as the walk up apartment it was before than a sales centre that could lead to a gravel parking lot. Can you imagine if you tore town a building in the suburbs and put in a gravel parking lot? People would lose there shit...

    General Construction Updates

Why isn’t this land being offered back up for sale? Who cares about LRT integration just build something good and dump the people off of future LRT on the road ROW. This is prime real estate and shouldn’t be a temp parking lot

    Infill Development Discussion

Great, look at the corner sweep there. Great place to do donuts on a residential street. Couldn’t have maxed the asphalt more

Like we don’t have enough surface area of asphalt. Idiots

    Heritage Plaza | 91m | 26s | Arcadis

That is expensive for a meh location. The City calls Macleod Trail a Main Street, i would rather any money being taken from this and the adjacent Devereaux development to be put back into public realm improvements to make the pedestrian experience more connected and better, at grade.

This would be so much better if they added extra entrances and demised this into more and smaller spaces
