That's really the core of our nimby problem I think. People think there are zero consequences to blocking development and they have everything to lose by letting it happen. There needs to be a more direct link (practically and psychologically) between development and service improvements.

You're right, but also people have been saying that since before Seton was built. We're long past the point of building for transit in that area. Seton is a complete and utter failure on every level. Even if the green line gets built in the timeframe we're looking at It will take decades before...

Walked by today. It's a lovely building, though I'm mildly annoyed they set the footprint back like 3 feet from the building to the left so there's just a random strip of black cladding covered in grafitti. Should have just moved the building forward a couple feet. The sidewalk is plenty wide enough

Unironically though, having grown up in the deep south east, my entire perception of Calgary has been shaped by the car. Parking lots, drive throughs, and highways are permanent fixtures of my childhood and adolescence. Those were the settings for countless moments in my life. It's a little sad 😂
