I didn’t phrase it well, I meant incorporating the new fire station into a res project was a good idea.

Jobs are generally the driving force for growth, but for international immigration it's not always job related. We'll see Calgary's population growth start to slow (as it will for the other major metros) as international immigration slows, but lack of rent control or cold winters or good transit...

    Calgary International Airport

Here are the airports July numbers. August number should be out not too long from now. The trend continues with slower, traffic for domestic and higher for transborder and international.

    1201 17 Ave NW | 19m | 5s | Casola Koppe

It’s a good fit for the location. Colour choices could have been better, I would’ve gone with either charcoal or white brick, and two accent colors, but I’m not going to lose sleep over the colours. It’s off on a side street, and it fulfils its purpose.

    Green Line LRT | ?m | ?s | Calgary Transit

Development near the west LRT stations has been slow to get going but it is happening right now as we speak. TODs along Centre street would be done the way they are supposed to be done. A collection of small to medium sized buildings scattered in proximity to the stations, like we’ve seen in...

    Green Line LRT | ?m | ?s | Calgary Transit

Sorry I meant 96th. I get it mixed up with Country Hills. Lol Once it hits that area things pick up, but until then it’s a train that’s disconnected from any kind of urban fabric.

    Green Line LRT | ?m | ?s | Calgary Transit

That’s two years after it opened though. Not exactly enough time to create a TOD right? Since that time some new developments have sprung up around Shaganappi point, Same with Westbrook which will have higher numbers now. Also there’s a golf course on the north side of Shag Point and thus no...

    Green Line LRT | ?m | ?s | Calgary Transit

Crowchild itself doesn’t have a walkable atmosphere, but there is a lot within walking distances from the stations. A university, 3 shopping nodes and thousands of people, and they were already there before the line was built. There’s nothing along the Nose Creek route until you get out to...

    Green Line LRT | ?m | ?s | Calgary Transit

A route through Nose Creek wouldn’t have the same characteristics as why the other lines. Not in any way really, the closest similarity would be some parts of the initial redline to the south where it goes through some industrial areas, but there are no similarities with the other lines.

    Green Line LRT | ?m | ?s | Calgary Transit

I agree with what others have said about the train going to the deep SE, it runs through areas with low population, and if it were up to me, I would have the southeast leg go as far as Quarry Park and end there initially. The difference with the SE compared to Nose Creek is at the middle vein of...

    WSL Currie | 22.5m | 6s | Western Securities | Hindle Architects

I don’t know if anyone else here lives in the neighborhood, but I know many of us feel your pain. Early in the development stages the master plan looked overly ambitious, but still promising, especially given its proximity to Marda loop. I don’t know what the difference is with University...

    US Politics

I don’t know if anyone watched the debate last night. I don’t actually care that much about US politics but I can’t stand Trump so I have to say it was entertaining watching Harris mop the floor with Trump. I don’t know if anyone here is a Trump supporter, but for anyone who is, last night’s...

    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

The bike lane could start at 11th street and go east from there. Would work well especially after 11street underpass gets done and the 11th is proper bike lane.
