Nice to see Forest Lawn getting some love. 17th Ave SE has so much potential given the Max Purple and its proximity to downtown. Also kind of helps push back on the narrative that infills only happen in gentrified neighbourhoods and create million dollar places.

Anyone know more of the details behind this? Like is it something new being constructed or just an abstract concept based around existing CPKC yards...

So apparently the cost of that naming rights sponsorship deal with Cowboys for Millennium Park is the City of Calgary allowing them to pave over the entire green space so that Cowboys can pop up their Stampede tent there. This pisses me off given how little park space exists in the downtown...

17th and 4th is the crossroads of two of our most important mainstreets in Calgary so put me down as an enthusiast for this project simply because it clusters 3 tall towers together in an otherwise low/midrise area which means that it is likely to attract causal explorers of Calgary to the area...

Also the City has updated the Green Line website with a new map. I like the fact they have finally telegraphed the intention to keep building beyond Stage 1 as part of the map.

I think it's a safe bet the UCP gives this the thumbs up and the Feds rubber stamp whatever business case is sent to them. The ultimate irony of course is that splitting the construction at 4th St into two procurement contracts was the plan back in 2019 and the UCP blocked it with their review...

The only thing that bothers me is that the Max stops on Centre at 16th Ave and on Harvest Hills Blvd were kept out of the project scope for some reason so they are still the crappy regular bus shelters despite being some of the busier stops.

Apparently the old Greyhound Station in West Village is going to be converted into Calgary Transit offices and a municipal works depot. Interesting use of the land. Better than an empty, hulking building next to a CTrain station, much worse than what the potential is for that location if they...

The City won the blanket rezoning court challenge. It's funny how the Communities First Councillor (Chabot) says they'll bring forward a motion to repeal the blanket rezoning in favour of targeting density in key areas around things like transit and yet he and the other Communities First...

Doesn't seem like the UCP is very serious in getting this built given Council has been clear for the last month that they need to have meetings to get their questions answered to try and find a path forward.

I'm curious the occupancy rate of the residential units in TelusSky. We looked at them when the building opened and they were priced extremely high and had weird layouts. I kind of figured they would have a hard time filling them.
