Looking a little more closely it does appear they are black with a white wrap. You can see it on a couple of the windows. Or am I out to lunch?

The A&W is now permanently closed there. It's too bad because a: That was my go to A&W for breakfast and b: They were going to have a nice patio fronting onto 7th Ave which could have helped traffic.

Too bad the commercial portion isn't going to be a green roof (or maybe it is, just doesn't look like it). With the southern exposure and residents looking down on it that could have been really nice. Is there anything the city can do to encourage developers to incorporate them?

I just hope they leave the Thriftlodge sign up. It makes me smile every time I go by that the motel is torn down but the sign is still there with the ad saying something like "Quality rooms available!"

Looking at the overview schematics I like the center street surface alignment - until it gets to 16th ave where it needs to be grade separated. The bridges and interaction with the island and pathway are just ok (really what other option is there at this point). However looking at the schematic...
