It's already time to update the counts. :)

    Most liked posts on SRC

I had more time to kill today :) Inspired by the photoshop post of the new event centre I decided to make a thread showing the most popular posts (by number of likes) I'm sure there are lots that are missing from the list. Most popular Non Construction posts 53 likes - Calgary Event Centre...

    Unbuilt Projects

Sucks that the last one on here is part of the unbuilt section.

    Water-cooler discussion thread

I definitely have too much time on my hands today. I was looking at that post showing the two different versions of the arena, and how it had 36 likes. I can't think of any other post even close to that except the one below at 24 likes. Any other superstar posts out there? 36 likes 24 likes

    FWIW, it's 36 now. Nice work @ShotArch

Weird. I voted, but it doesn't show my result. I tried to vote again and it says I already voted. 🤔

Another choice could be, D: I prefer another bird, but would be happy with the Magpie ;) Just for the record, I prefer the American Golden finch, simply because of the colors.

Calgary Bike Lanes and Bike Paths

I love the idea of a bike lane/cycle track down 14th st SW. That'd be fantastic. When I lived up in that area I always wished they had a nice direct way to get downtown.

    Alberta Provincial Politics

Less people in Alberta respect Kenny than in other parts of Canada lol. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/poll-canadians-living-in-alberta-climate-change-1.6272645 29% of Albertans respect Kenny as compared to 42% in the rest of Canada according top recent poll.

Actually that would look great, and they are local.

This is the perfect build for an inner city street that's not a high street. Doesn't need retail at that location, just decent density that nice to look at.

    Underwood Tower | 99.06m | 31s | Western Securities

I ate there for the first time and it was good. Had the tacos along with some chips and guac and everything was tasty. It's not the cheapest place, but if you prefer quality over quantity, it's a good place to check out.

Guisti Walltech, must be the main supplier in the city, they are doing all of the woodframe projects.

5th street would be good, but given the design of the arena, with the main façade looking onto Olympic Way, it'll become the main avenue into the Stampede, as it has been for the past years. Olympic Way also run adjacent to the new BMO centre, and it curls around heading to 17th ave entrance.

    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

Just as @Silence&Motion mentioned, Ontario cities do a lot of high rise apartment buildings, and the numbers seem par for the course. When it comes to anything between Toronto and Vancouver, Calgary is kicking butt. Mostly it's catching up, but still good to see.

The design is banal, but nice that more development is happening in that area.

    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

If it were up to me, I'd have cities filled with buildings on the scale of ranging from Brio Bridgeland to The Theodore, with some high rises thrown in near busy transit nodes.

Nice! So it would be replacing these houses along 37th ave?

    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

A lot of that style in Vancouver and Montreal as well, but you certainly see it a lot in the Ontario cities, and outside of some American cities, the rest of the planet for that matter. It's funny how people here squirm at the idea of high rise apartment buildings in places outside of the core.

Marketing magic lol, either way I'll be happy so long as it gets built.
