Sorry, to be clear I was referring to the building posted by IanBray (1300 8 st) which appears set for demolition and replacement with a parking lot.

Disappointing. The City should not grant them a DP for a parking lot (correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe we have the policy and discretion to do so). The floorplate of this building would have been suitable for a residential conversion.

Personally, I see it as sort of understated and innocuous, but to each their own.

I'm a fan. I had heard rumours of this one but heard it was only 6 floors so was expecting a cheapish looking wood frame hotel - this is much, much better than I expected.

110-150m is impressive, and points to the Chinook area having the potential to developing into a proper "midtown" which would be really cool and would be evidence of Calgary's evolution into a true "big city".
