Yup. The Tim Hortons is there. Reasonably busy whenever I pop in...which isn't often. So take that with a grain of salt.
Also filling in is the space next to HSBC. A fitness studio is doing renos.
Well, that is disappointing news, although far from unexpected. Projects along the tracks on 9th & 10th are needed to bridge the divide between dt and the Beltline.
Hopefully it's not dead for too long.
There's always the PetroCan just a stone's throw away on 14th to serve the Hillhurst crowd. The Shell being so close to the Ctrain station seems like an incongruous waste of a good location.
The Safeway site being redeveloped?! I haven't heard anything of this. Considering nothing has happened with either the Mission or Beltline Safeways I don't think anyone should be holding their breath. But I'd love to be proven wrong.
As for where the next round of density comes, isn't the...
Speaking of mall renovation/TOD, is anything further happening with the east end of North Hill mall (Sears)? I believe someone posted a rendering a while back which included two residential towers but haven't heard anything recently.
It's nice to see the west side of the Beltline get some Battistella love. And as mentioned earlier, the glass will make a good contrast to the over abundance of brick. But the "Hide Nothing" signage looks so so tacky. Odds that that gets scrapped from final project?
I don't recall reading anything about that AIMCo/Cidex purchase. Is there any movement or info on that or are they presumably sitting on it until things pickup here a bit more?
