    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

Great to see Calgary hasn't slowed down since 2018, and I'm hoping we can be at the same pace 3 years from now in 2025. I don't want to be a wet blanket, but there doesn't seem to be many larger multi tower projects coming down the pipe.

Do you mean the map function from SRC? I find the map function generally works well, but there are sometimes projects missing. If you run across something missing, let the mods know and they will add the site to the map.

    Scotia Place | 36.85m | 11s | CSEC | HOK

It might not, but right now it's the sticking point. If we give in and they request more money for something else, then it's a different decision. Because it's been approved and construction is imminent I'm okay with it. I realize they are trying to squeeze extra money out of us at the last...

    Water-cooler discussion thread

Good thing the city's secondary suite process is faster now, yours would have melted by the time it got approved. lol

    Covid-19

I can't find the article now, but I saw an article this morning where a Canadian doctor was saying it might be better for people who test positive at home, to stay home and isolate instead of getting a PCR. I'm thinking it's not such a bad idea at this point. It's so contagious that you're...

    Scotia Place | 36.85m | 11s | CSEC | HOK

I kinda agree. I'm ticked off at CSEC for dragging this out, but I'm at the point of, we've gotten this far, let's just finish it.

    West Tenth 1400 | 24m | 7s | Trimount

Good to know that it hasn't stalled out, but was just waiting to submit for their BP. Whether people like the project or not, it'll be nice to see that parcel developed.

I don't know if I'd call it suburbia, but I know what you mean. A lot of single family homes.

So true. I drove down 24th ave the other day, and it looks better already because of the cycle tracks. I can't wait until some of the developments get underway.

    Calgary to Canmore Trail

This is pretty cool. I can see this being popular with tourists, especially if it goes all the way to Canmore.

West Village Towers | 149.95m | 42s | Cidex Group | NORR Dubai Yahya Jan

I'm getting comfortable with how these look in the skyline now. Especially with 11+11 nearby.

    Lotus Condominiums | 58m | 18s | Knightsbridge

This is perfect for the location, and a good fit for Chinatown. Any opposition from the community?

    EV606 | 22m | 6s | Alston Properties | ATLRG

The brick pattern is cool, but I can't help but wonder if it's a lot of that one pattern? The pattern would be awesome as a facade on a small 2-4 storey building that's in between a couple of other buildings. It's a lot to have it on one fairly large building.

Calgary and Alberta Green Energy Projects

Looking at these numbers from your link. Does TNG mean power generated over a whole year? Also it shows Solar as Maximum capacity of 336 MW, but total generated is 0 MW, are the solar power farms not generating any power? GROUP MC TNG DCR GAS 9573 6570 37 HYDRO 894 231 323 ENERGY...

    Calgary, the next Detroit?

Thank you! I spent yesterday evening listening to my brother in law talk about how bad the situation is in Calgary, and that 'the last person to leave Calgary will have to turn out the lights' I brought up all of these developments, and also the small fact that Calgary is still growing in...

    Connaught Mixed Use | 95m | 29s | Cressey | Chris Dikeakos

Yesterday, I was at the Circle K across the street from this and there were some guys at the site in the closed off building. Has anyone heard any rumors of this starting up?
